And this is why I love Bach. Not for his music, but for his attitude.

Bach should be thankful. Axl was very gracious for extending him this slot.

However, Bach mouths off about other musicians alot. He should shut his trap when it comes to Weiland and Slash.

It is not a far slide back to skid row, Bach. And, I'm talking about where the bums hang-out.

My guess is that this event has been at least slightly blown out of proportion, and is now beginning to take on mythical status.

Actually no, a good vocal teacher is very, very, VERY important to anyone who calls himself a "singer". If Axl blow out his voice, is because he didn't have a decent vocal teacher by his side to say: "Dude, you really shouldn't do that, otherwise you will lose your voice really quickly", I know what I'm talking about, I've been taking singing classes for 2 years with a really amazing teacher, so I know how important is to have a (good)voice teacher to help me out...

By the way, as baz said: "Axl is singing better than ever, and that's a fact.", do you think Axl is better because of what? A Miracle? Or because he has a good voice teacher?

Yes, Axl nearly lost his voice after the May 12th Hammerstein show, and was worried he'd have to cancel the other shows until Bach introduced Axl to his vocal teacher.

Okay the article is fair enough, but of course Scott can't sing "Welcome to the Jungle", it's not his vocal register, he doesn't do the high pitched 80s screaming like that, he's got alot more of a baritone. Also, Slash is playing Stone Temple Pilots songs because he's in the band with Scott, they are all equal that way, they all have equal respect for each other and their collective backgrounds - Velvet Revolver is all 5 of them together; GNR is Axl's sole vision now, don't think he would care to do a NIN song or a Replacements song or whatever. That's not meant in a critical way, that's just how it is. The current GNR aren't a collective group like the old band was where when you thought of GNR it was Axl Rose and Slash and Duff etc. When you think of GNR now, people only really relate it to Axl. I hope that made sense.

Anyway thanks for posting the article.

Mythical? Come on. There are 101 myths surrounding GNR, and this is not one of them.

Seriously i think that's all Bach meant about Weiland. I don't think he really meant it as insulting as it may have sounded to some. Just that the guys in VR do the old songs of their singer and the guys in GNR do the same.
I also agree with you about GNR being solely Axl's vision now and VR being a more equal partnership in that regard, which is why i tell people both parties have what they want now. Axl i think always saw and wanted GNR to be his vision, and Slash/Duff didn't see it that way and didn't want it that way.

But yeah, i like the way Bach gives interviews, i like the way he talks. I also think its funny that Axl doesn't say anything to him about why the albums not out yet. It's like not even Bach goes there. Could you imagine?
Bach:  "Hey Axl, how come it's taken so long-"
Tommy:   "Dude... don't."
Robin:     "Seriously."

That was funny.

Oh come on.? He had his raspy voice back BEFORE Bach introduced that vocal teacher.? After a couple of NY-shows he lost his voice and Bach knew a good vocal teacher who saved those other couple of shows.? Saying Bach is the reason of Axl having his rasp back is total bullshit.

Where does it say that Bach's vocal coach is responsible for Axl's rasp?  We are grateful because Axl lost his voice after the first show and Bach's vocal coach was able to get Axl ready for a concert 2 nights later.

"We have a nice long set. We also have Helmet on the bill and the Suicide Girls. I'm doing the hits and some new stuff, too. Just like every other musician. The Guns N' Roses fans are not just interested in old songs. They want to hear "Chinese Democracy." I even know when it's coming out, but I can't betray my confidence. If you want to hear the songs, come by the show. Axl plays a long time, it's like two and a half ? hours."
