After listening to UYI2 recently, that Civil War is PROBABLY the Best Guns N Roses song in existance...

What do you guys think?  It should DEFINETLY be played on tour too!

Yeah it is awesome...difficult to say if it is the best though.  The acoustic parts are very intricate, i love em!

I'm not sure if it's the greatest song but it is still awesome and well written

The reason why axl writes about them is that his names first letters are W.A.R.  hihi

i totally agree with you!  i Love that song!!

i *really* wish they would play "Civil War" during the remaining shows of this current tour.  the lyrics are so relevant today!!
with Axl's voice sounding a bit deeper these days (which i personally LOVE) i bet it would sound even better!!   peace

I don't know. Locomotive is on that album, and I love that song even more than CW.

Civil War is their best song, along with Better and Nightrain, in my opinion. It has got that epic feel, and when the piano kicks in for the final chorus.  drool

I think "Civil War" is Guns N' Roses most overrated song.

Awesome song, to be sure, and one of my favorites.  Best ever is hard to pin down, with GNR.  AFD is legendary, and you could make a "their best track" argument for many songs on that album.  I'm not saying it ISN'T Civil War...it could be.  I honestly don't know, and can't make myself decide.

I think this refers to the UYI II inlay. Izzy is not mentioned playing Civil War or Locomotive, but we don't know why!
When you try to play Civil War yourself you will see that this song is far away from being overrated. Great piece of music. ok

I have always thought that Civil War is way underrated. great lyrics/vocals, great guitar work, great drumming amazing really. Most of the non GN'R fans who I have introduced this song to have said that "it's great how come I have never heard it before?" There should have been video for it...
