All I read in that thread was negative shit.I though htgth and jarmo dont like people posting negative shit about axl .Posting a canceled date is negative or asking for a negative response ,imo
Not bashing or looking for a fight , just asking a good qeustion

Well, the first reason that occurs to me is to
let people know.
Some of them have bought tickets.
Well, I know what you're saying. Maybe he should lock the thread right away.
But do you really thing that 50 cancelation threads wont come up the very next second?

you could have a point there but, how many internet goers on htgth were actually planning on attending fresno ?
edit : Board members attending: DaNutz, gnrlies, Jdawg, rhiad
I think 50 threads will pop up anyways
I think replys in various threads will go wayyyy off topic mentioning the cancelation
but then again he created a second thread in the news section , stating the cancelation

GN'R is more than capable of creating negative press on their own at this point. Don't worry.

I feel bad for people who bought tickets off Ebay or scalpers......... no refund
Here is how I look at it.
I use to be a HUGE Aerosmith fan.
I own like 3 greatest hits albums cause I would buy absolutely anything they put out.
twice I had tickets, twice they cancelled my concert.
One was like the day before and i had already drove 3 hours, spent 100 bucks on a hotel, 50 on food and gas, I bought 10th row center tickets off a Ticket agency for 200 dollars apiece.
So we got to the venue and the show was cancelled.
I was out almost 400 dollars.............
Tyler had "throat" problems but yet 2 days later he is on TRL gearing up for the BIG Madison square garden show and he was fine.
Point is,? I will never buy Aerosmith tickets again. Never, as much as I love them, I will listen to CDs but I will never in my life buy a ticket to see them live ever.
GNR, as much as i love them, Id really have to think long and hard before I bought tickets.

Merck seems to be under the impression that things on this site can create negative press.

This is a "joke" right?
You're trying to compare posting a fact to posting made up negative bullshit.

Yes, I would be. Luckily I don't think that. All I'm saying is that it is conceivable that some might.

No it's not. If it was a thread totally meant to bash the band then yeah, but that's not what the thread was suppose to be about. It was suppose to be about informing the fans that the show was canceled so they dont waste the time going to the arena and finding out then that it was canceled. It's not Jarmo's fault that alot of the people in the thread like to bitch and moan about something that doesn't even affect them...

We try to remove all the negative bullshit rumors, but that was a press release.
There's a difference.
