Free speech?

« Reply #20 on: December 12, 2006, 10:49:53 PM »

My World wasn't bad enough?

Jesus fucking Christ on the cross!? When will you guys lighten up.? I can understand some people not liking My World because their ears aren't trained for that kind of music, but it's a really cool original song.? Its the closest old GnR got to having a "Pitman" sound.
So he's not allowed to not like it? I happen to think it's one of the worst songs ever. Funny how the best and worst song of all time could be within 3 songs of each other on the same album. Roll Eyes

No, it's fine if you don't like it.? Just keep it to yourself.? What's the point in everyone posting negative comments about the songs they don't like?? Just post about ones you like and shut up about the rest.? If you're really a fan, act like it.?
Don't even try and say "real fans" don't ever complain or have a right to dislike a few songs.

No dude.? You can hate as much as you want.? I just don't understand why you feel the need to share your negativity with everyone else.? Write all your negative comments down in a journal.? Post your positive ones here... on this fan site.

There is nothing wrong with fans discussing the ups and dows of their favorite songs.  If you can't handle the truth, uh, actually, stay right here....

Mark my words.  Axl will one day share the stage with Eminem.

I'd love to see that! I've always said an Eminem n' GnR tour would 'pwn'.

Does anyone remember when Eminem got dressed up as Axl, and his band members got dressed up as buckethead and Slash and they performed some material.  Hilarious.  I actually think Eminem respects Axl.

^^^agreeed.  also, they would no longer be my favorite band, or even a band i like.

Wow, just because they put out some experimental material?

Harsh.

Axl should no better, the braids were a bad enough trip into the seedy world of Hip-Hop, and anyone here who remembers what NU-Metal was like should quiver like myself at the thought.

My World wasn't bad enough?

What's the story with all the hating of My World round here? I liked it, not as a song, cause it clearly wasn't, but as something different to listen to that you just don't find on any album these days, it's fucking top notch.  ok

I don't mind some classic hip hop but if Axl jumps on the rap bandwagon it would be a total joke.

Not only would it be "cashing in" but he would also probably be majorly ridiculed by the media.

Yeah, I don't understand that comment either??  By the way Merck NOW AKA, the word 'Beeing' in your signature should be spelled BEING.  Sorry, I'm a grammar and spelling freak and figured you would at least want it spelled right if it appears in all of your posts.

Anyway back to the topic, in 2002 I could have seen Axl doing some shit with a rapper or two.  I mean he wore the sports jerseys and warm up pants, which isn't exactly rock n' roll and more of a hip-hop thing.  Look at what Scott Weiland is doing with Pharrell Williams for his solo album.  If Axl did the same thing with GN'R and wrote a couple songs with Pharrell Williams like Weiland did, everyone here would stop listening to GN'R??  I don't want to ever see Axl do a rap album or shit like that and I hope he never fucking raps in his life (For the rest of it anyways), but I'm all for change.  It could actually make for an interesting record if Pharrell Wiliams produced a few GN'R songs.  It doesn't mean they will be rap songs or sound like rap songs, but it would just be different than what GN'R usually does.

I wouldn't hate the band if something like that happened like so many have said already.  Axl can do whatever he wants and I don't care what he does as long as it doesn't suck.  Axl rapping would suck.  GN'R PRODUCING an album with a rap star might be pretty good.
