-  After Better he said "I know we're not supposed to talk about it, but that was a song from our "forthcoming album."  He said it with a grin and then said something else but nothing really of note.

Perhaps there are legalities holding it up? or axl was just joking on all the silence he gives the fans

I can see the joke part in the second half ?of the sentence and the grin but the "we're not supposed to talk about it" concerns me. Doesn't sound like a joke to me. More like "guys, it's not that I don't want to talk about it , but I'm not talking about it because I can't". Something out of his control, like legal reasons or something with the record company, and he's got to keep his mouth shut. To me, that would explain why nothing has been said for a while.

I can see the joke in the first half as I said but can't see how better being from "the forthcoming album" can be a joke.

Being that I believe none of us enjoy being tortured, (except maybe lucky,or brownstowne) I believe AXL's comment is a tiny signal to us that it is coming out, soon.
