There are no tuesdays left in 2006 and/or 2007!!!

« on: December 11, 2006, 07:40:05 AM »

ok, there has been a rumour circulating on croatian news sites, and forums about GNR playing here in summer 2007.
it appears some promoter is interested in organising the show, but from what I hear, the management hasnt been contacted at all (just yet).
I hope its true, the arena would probably be an unique experience for the band and the fans...

yes Arena would be a cool place... but it needs to be done like a regional thing where people from this region would come. otherwise it is a failed project. even better idea is for Guns to play in Sarajevo in August. there is huge film festival over there and Sarajevo is in the middle of the region.

this wasnt a wishing thread. it's just about what I knew.
and the pula thing would be a success. if depech mode can fill an arena (and when was the last time you meet a dm fan in croatia), then GNR show would definitely have a sold out show.
and sarajebo show would be a disaster.
any guy willing to travel to sarajevo would travel to pula...
on the other hand, "Welcome to the jungle" would really feel at home in bosnia...

I didn't use the word 'wish' anywhere above... I just told my opinion of what would be possible succesful concert. whatever... ?nervous

PS. I don't think 'sarajebo' and WTTJ comment is at place, time to move on from the past (both political & GNR).

nothing political about it. (but I see why it could be interpreted that way)
sarajevo is the least appealing possible choice. belgrade is a far better location than Sarajevo (if not pula).
Just ask anyone where they'd rather go? Belgrade, Zagreb or Sarajevo.
even the people who live in Sarajevo would rather be somewhere else.

the thing that makes pula ahead of any posible choice is this logic...
where would you rather be listening to gnr in the summer of 2007... in the middle of the hills in bosnia (during a geeky film festival), or at the mediteranian coast watching blonds at the beach?

visually - Pula Arena

success wise - Sarajevo... it is not 'geeky' film festival, it is the biggest comemrcial film festival in this region, great locations and great parties. If it is good enough for U2, it is good enough for GNR.

Anyway lets let this rumour rest for now.  peace

That amphitheatre looks awesome. But we all know these rumours are just rumours. But it would be cool to see Gn'R playing in countries like Croatia.. they should do Israel again too.

It certainly would be an awesome venue for GNR to play at, and a great location for a live DVD. It's somewhat spoiled by the big McDonalds sign outside though don't ya think? ?hihi

That place is great, playing in a place that has over 2,000 years of history.  Hope it doesn't go to Axl's head with the 2,000 years thing in regards to Chinese Democracy.  I just wrote an exam paper about The Colleseum in Rome if thats what it is...great place.
