It might not necessarily be "from" the soundtrack, watch the movie...they do the exact same thing when the spotlights hover all around the crowd and the noises are a duplication of the noises the robots make.

I just went through the score of the movie WAR OF THE WORLDS.  Nothing.  It has to be from a score of a movie though.  I'm shocked this has yet to be determined.  Anyway... anyone think of sending Robin an e-mail to ask him?

Do we know for sure that it's a recording playing? I just assumed it was being played Live on a keyboard which, along with the spot lights, creates the U.F.O. illusion.

I checked the scenes that you've mentioned. Its not from the war of the worlds.

I think Fortus has confirmed that Robin selected the track, and that it was a movie score.

Well then I would recommend Close Encounters of The Third Kind.

Negative... this score does not have the intro to GNR.

If my memory serves me...and I was in attendance at the Madison Square Garden show, the introduction is from, 'A Clockwork Orange'. The arranger is Walter 'Wendy' Carlos and is a reworking of Beethoven... Ding.Ding.Ding. Ring the Bell. Win a prize?

I was dreaming then...and preoccupied with drunkeness, my own and a friend passing out next to me right before vomiting on my leather jacket-- and the girl in the row above me desirous of making out all night...I had felt like the kissing couple that the camera briefly pans on in the Paradise City video.Back to subject-- would someone repost a link to the intro, I'm pretty good at name that tune....

Wow, all these months and none of us still know the answer? Someone needs to stick the clip on a nerdy movie message board and ask.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I assumed it was being played Live on a keyboard. If the info that it's definitely a soundtrack is just rumor, than you all might be chasing swamp gas. (ufo pun intended)

That's hardly confirmation of a movie soundtrack. I don't really care either way. I just like the idea of the space ship sounds & lights being used as the intro for the shows on this world tour.

And that couple weren't even a couple. The dude cheated on his girl at the show n' got caught, and aired nationally.

I just watched War of The Worlds. And the same exact sounds from the Guns intro ARE in the movie. But I have a feeling that "someone" here just likes to hear themselves talk. (see themselves type)
