I think the intro comes from an instrumental part on the David Bowie Album "Heroes".  It has also been used in the movie "Wir Kinder von Bahnhoff Zoo", about a drug addicted teenage girl in Berlin.

sorry, but not even close..

It's *not* from the Omen, I'm 100% sure of that. My brother has the soundtrack albums for the 3 first movies, and is a big fan, so he would know.

I am almost 100% sure that the band created the intro self. It rocks!

Well we know its from a film Linuzzzzz. And everyone thinks everything is from the Omen. At pub quizes when they play dark music like that and you have to guess the film, you'd be amazed how many people say The Omen.

I think Richard said that it was from a movie, and that Robin picked it.

This has been asked a couple of times, and I don't think anyone has come up with a definitive answer yet for what it is.

Hopefully I'm wrong, cuz I would also like to know what it is

That figures, I read on the internet that he wrote all of Chinese Democracy.

In one night, nonetheless.

It's from War of The Worlds.

The spotlights are meant to be from the big robots and the music is from the score.

Cheers!

Not sure which track...me and my buddy that work at a music store realized it was War of The Worlds when they were doing the spotlight thing over the crowd. It's the noise the robots make when they are looking for people in the movie.

ta  but I don't quite understand what intro people are talking about.

Im pretty sure everyone is talking about the Intro before Welcome to the Jungle.

It's really reminiscent of the one they used '01-'02 but it's different.

My oppinion is a bit skewed because I'm a ufo buff, but I think the music along with the spot lights moving around the crowd is like a space ship coming in for a landing. jimho

EDIT- I just noticed Crimson Joel's post, but I've posted my idea before... fwiw
