Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney answer fan questions in this video.
Jerry Cantrell says "this is going to be the last tour for us. We may do like one or two things after that...but it's going to be the last states tour until we figure out what's going on next. After we take a very long nap." (17:05)

ALICE IN CHAINS's WILLIAM DUVALL: 'We're Excited About The Future' - Sep. 8, 2010
ALICE IN CHAINS singer/guitarist William DuVall tells Billboard.com that there is no reason to assume that the band won't record another album following the success of the gold-certified "Black Gives Way to Blue", which came out in September 2009.
"It would be fairly safe to say that you don't come this far and do all this work just to stop for another 15 years," said DuVall. "We are on a path, and just as it was at the beginning, we still don't know where it's going to lead. We're digging what we're doing and we're very happy with the reception we've gotten, and we respect the fact that this was a tall order to write in the first place, and to fill it is an even bigger deal. So I have a hard time imagining we would go through the ride we've been on the last four, five years just to stop.
"We're excited about the future," DuVall added. "Let's just say that."
According to DuVall, ALICE IN CHAINS has yet to begin piecing songs together for the next studio album, but "there's plenty of riffs flying around." He added, "That was the case when we first started back up. We would just stockpile these fragments, and then some time later we would sift through the mountain of stuff, and that's what became 'Black Gives Way to Blue'. The same thing has been happening since we've been touring 'Black Gives Way to Blue', so it would be only natural to at some point say, 'Hey, we've got a lot of stuff. Let's sift through and see what we've got this time.' "

Alice in Chains Seattle show to become 3-D movie
Posted by Brier Dudley
How do 3-D goggles look with flannel?
The Alice in Chains homecoming concert Friday at Key Arena will be filmed for a 3-D movie, according to HDlogix, a New Jersey company that will record the show and produce the movie.
Directing the photography will be Jeff Cronenweth, cinematographer of movies such as "The Social Network" and "Fight Club." His brother, ad director Tim Cronenweth, will direct the concert movie.
After post-production is done, the 3-D version of the concert will be shown in theaters and released on Blu-ray 3-D discs.

From an interview with William DuVall:
Alice in Chains frontman describes pressure of re-forming iconic band
OCTOBER 8, 2010
"There was maximum pressure from the beginning,? DuVall recalls. ?This incarnation of Alice In Chains grew up in public.
?We?ve been going hard at it for five years,? Duvall says. ?We?re looking forward to a break.
?All the work we?ve done in the past five years bodes well for the future,? he concludes.
?But putting a time frame on it, I couldn?t do right now.?

Former Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr arrested in Salt Lake City
Friday, Feb. 18, 2011
SALT LAKE CITY ? The original bassist for Alice In Chains was arrested Thursday in Salt Lake City for investigation of drug possession and on an outstanding warrant from 2003 for failing to show up for sentencing on a separate drug-related conviction.
Mike Starr, 44, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
The alternative rocker and reality TV personality was arrested Thursday by Salt Lake police. Starr was the passenger in a van that was pulled over on a routine traffic violation near 1200 S. State about 12:30 a.m., said Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan.
The vehicle was driven by Travis Meeks of the rock band Days of the New. He was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license and then released.
Starr, who was sitting in the passenger seat, told the officer, "Hey officer, have you heard of Alice in Chains? I used to be the bass guitarist for them. We are down here in Utah, me and Travis, putting together a new band," a Salt Lake police report states.
According to jail documents, Starr was illegally in possession of prescription medication, including the painkiller Opana, also known as oxymorphone, and alprazalam pills, used to treat anxiety and panic attacks.
In addition, the officer found Starr had a warrant out for his arrest. According to Utah court records, Starr was convicted in 3rd District Court in 2003 of felony drug possession. But a bench warrant was issued on Aug. 25, 2003 when he failed to appear for sentencing.
Another Salt Lake police report obtained by the Deseret News showed that in 2003, Starr and his father, John Starr, were arrested for allegedly doing drugs on a Southwest flight from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City. John Starr said he was taking his son to drug rehab in Seattle at the time, the report states.
John Starr was witnessed injecting Mike Starr with a syringe, and the two began arguing after the needle broke off, according to the report.
Mike Starr was seen going to the plane bathroom for 15 to 20 minutes. When he returned, he handed John Starr something, and "John then turned towards the window with a cut up coke can and a lighter," the report states.
The two were arrested as they stepped off the plane. Investigators found the Starrs to be in possession of a syringe and balloons filled with heroin, according to police records.
In Michael Starr's pockets, police said they found Valium, Zanax, diazepam and Celexa.
When they checked the Starrs' luggage, they found drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs including ceicia. Michael Starr claimed his father forced him to shoot up in the plane, according to the report.
Starr was the bass player for Seattle rockers Alice in Chains from their formation in 1987 to 1993, when he left the band.
Despite having a warrant out for his arrest, Starr wasn't exactly in hiding. In 2010, Starr was in VH1's Celebrity Rehab program for heroin addiction. During the show's taping, he said he had been kicked out of Alice In Chains for drug abuse.

And terrible news to go with the above
Mike Starr found dead today:
Starr appeared on the third season of "Celebrity Rehab" back in 2009 -- and was arrested last month for felony possession of a controlled substance. Salt Lake City cops say he had 6 Xanax pills and 6 Opana (painkiller) pills when he was busted.
Starr was 44 years old.
Mike's dad tells TMZ, "It's a terrible shock and tragedy."
UPDATE: Police tell us Starr's body was found in a Salt Lake City home today. Cops say they were called to the house at 1:42PM.
Story developing...

Starr's former Alice in Chains band mates, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney, released a statement, offering their support for his family. The band's original singer, Layne Staley, died from a drug overdose in 2002.
"Jerry and Sean are mourning the loss of their friend and ask that the media respect their privacy -- and the privacy of Mike's family -- during this difficult time. Their thoughts & prayers are with Mike's family," it read.
