I just got tickets to see them in Fox club in Oakland
Seen them before w/ Guns and VR, both awesome shows. One of the strongest bands in the 90s imo

Very cool.
Great venues throughout the tour, smart money says this will be an extremely tough ticket..

AOL's Noisecreep Top 10 Albums of 2009
Alice in Chains -- 'Black Gives Way to Blue'
They took a massive chance replacing Layne Staley and Alice in Chains knew it. The late singer's blend of hard rock grit and swampy soul vocals helped set the group into a class all by themselves. After years of silence, Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney, and Mike Inez, resurrected Alice in Chains with new vocalist Willian DuVall and hit the road playing their beloved albeit short catalog along with new songs.
'Black Gives Way to Blue' is the reformed band's first album together and it's a big middle finger to all of the naysayers who questioned AIC's decision to continue without Staley. 'Check My Brain' and 'Private Hell' wouldn't have sounded out of place on their landmark 'Dirt' album while the restrained title track would have been a fine addition to the 'Sap' and 'Jar of Flies' EPs. DuVall's vocals also impress, revealing a tender yet weighty power to them that isn't too far off what Staley did so well. This is the comeback story of the year.

I personally do not agree
The new album is ok, but there is no song on there that has the quality of past albums.

A little trivia...
ALICE IN CHAINS have earned a Grammy nomination for "Best Hard Performance" for "Check My Brain," the No. 1 hit single from the band's new album BLACK GIVES WAY TO BLUE. Fueled by the chart-topping track, which hit No. 1 on the Modern, Active and Rock formats and was hailed by Spin magazine as "one of the catchiest songs of Alice In Chains' history," the album entered Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart at No. 5, with first-week sales exceeding 126,000 copies.
The quartet (guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell, guitarist/vocalist William DuVall, drummer Sean Kinney and bassist Mike Inez) is maintaining momentum with second single "Your Decision," which was this week's No. 1 Most Added track at Modern and Active Rock. Earlier this week, the video for "Your Decision" premiered on iTunes and shot to No. 1 on their Rock Video Chart.
