I agree.  I just don't see the point (unless a band REALLY sucks).  Other than that, have a beer (or six) and enjoy the extra music.  I considered it a bonus that I got to see Baz and what turned out to be a random one-night fill in.  Made my 3 hour drive even more worthwhile.  Six hours of driving for a two hour show, getting home at 4:30 am...that's a hassle.  Two extra bands, and I think, "hell, I'll make a day of it!"

Suicide Girls finished at 12:00. So it's only been 30 mins since the last act apparently.

If they play right now, the show would be over at 3am

I cant see that for some reason.

He will play the last 5 songs to about 500 people

Stuck in either Chicago or Indiana due to the storm is my bet.  But who knows, I would imagine they could have got in a car and driven in.  We all know that a storm was headed for the Midwest, so they should have made their contingency travel plans yesterday.  This is Axl, and this is GNR though.  Probably was back home in Indiana chilling with his old buddies, and forgot what time it was.

That's good to hear, at least.  I can't imagine them really going through the opening acts if, say, GNR (in whole or part) were in another state still.

It seems December is a bad month for GNR concerts. ?Slash always said Axl wants to get off the road after awhile. ?I am sure they will be on at some point, but I can't imagine the crowd being into it if they quit serving liqour around 11 or 12, which most venues do.

I got a pic from ipoopie, and I think it shows the house lights down and the show lights on.  My phone sucks for multimedia, so I'm sending it to burning hills and maybe he can post it

Wouldn't someone most likely send a pic when GN'R first comes on, as oppose to them still waiting on the band??

File it under Yesterday's News. Remember the New Year's show where Axl showed up at 4am? GNR Runs Late is not a newsworthy headline.

So it looks like the band is onstage. Crisis averted.  beer
