Yeah, sometimes I go big and download DVD and convert them to .wmv and 22kbps audio because it fits great on my hardrive! I think the whole GNR trading community should do this, itll save people alot of money with external drives!

I agree... well I would if I had a DVD player.  I prefer my VHS to anything.  You just can't beat the quality and the tape won't get scratched up like a stupid DVD will.  I bought a smaller hard drive because the one I had was just too overwhelming for me.  My little mp3's fit in there so perfectly and completely snug as a bug in a rug. 

Oh did I mention I broke up with my girlfriend for an IPOD yesterday??  I love having my little mp3 friends with me everywhere I go.

I do like wma files, I admit it.  They are so tiny themselves and save even more room than mr. mp3 does.  I think mr. mp3 and mr. wma should join up and kick mr. flac's fucking ass.  People that start wars listen to flac.  People that drop 'bombs' listen to flac.  My peaceful friends and I... listen to lossy audio.  Do you think God sits up in heaven listening to fucking FLAC'S??  HELL FUCKING NO HE DOESN'T!!!  He ONLY listens to mp3's and wma files.  FLAC listeners will burn in hell for eternity.

You can burn them on cd when you have Nero. After that,rip them to your computer in mp3.

Your right. There is a difference in sound between mp3 and flac. With flac the sound is much better and there are no clicks between songs. It all fits smooth together with flac.

If anyone wants to test this out take a silver CD rip it, convert it to MP3 or WMA then burn it to CDR and then compare the two discs when played back on a proper HI-FI system, if you can't hear the difference, I would suggest it is time to upgrade, as you would probably won't be getting the full sound from your CD's.

Having said that MP3's are great for the PC or for in car use as it's almost impossible to get perfect sound in a car, and most PC sound cards cannot give you the level of detail a decent HI-FI system can.

Also with audience recorded bootlegs sometimes you cannot tell much of a difference when converted to MP3 depending on the quality of the recording. But why degrade these recordings by converting to MP3?

And yes I do use MP3's on my PC, but would never burn them to disc.?

Please no one of the things I like most about the GN'R trading community is the amount of uncompressed DVD's that are available on the different trackers. Several of these I already had as .avi files, as I have not had broadband internet for very long. needless to say they were promptly deleted from my hard drives.

But don't you see??  THAT is why mp3's are so much better.  The clicks are just an added bonus that you don't get with FLAC files.  I love the clicks during songs and I usually find myself clicking my fingers to the sound of the clicks in an mp3.  It's like getting more for you money.  Music with clicks>music without clicks.

Just think about this for a second:
FLAC file: About 60mb
WMA file: About 300kb

You can have about 200 wma songs for ONE flac!

Maybe the quality is a LITTLE worse but look at the difference!

I feel so smart for coming up with this magic plan. The GNR trading community will thank me one day.
