cool, although i do worry about the term 'heavy metal' vocals, hardly any of them are.

I can do drunk karaoke better than Phil Anselmo. What's he doing on the list?

Its a real mix of great vocalists and great front men. The two are vastly different.

My Top Ten Vocalists... It's my opinion everyone is entitled to one, agree or disagree, no probs...

1) Axl Rose ** This would be laughed at elsewhere but the contrasting range of power, aggression and sweetness to his voice(s) makes him top of the tree for me
2) Steven Tyler
3) Bon Scott
4) Freddy Mercury
5) Alice Cooper
6) Rob Halford (Only Dog's can hear his highest pitch)
7) Roger Daltry
Cool David Bowie (70's Era)
9) Robert Plant
10) Mike Patton

Of course Axl should be ranked higher, but rightly or wrongly, he will always be "penalized" in these polls for: (1) not dying in his prime; (2) being perceived as having been responsible for the break-up of the old band; and (3) not releasing an album of original material for 15+ years- which is particularly "damning" since he did not do (1).

What???  Not only should Rob Halford be far behind Axl, but #2? Shocked

I like Dio's voice (listened to it on the way to work today as a matter of fact) but not more than Axl's.

Yup... see your list is just about right. I agree Plant before Cooper, and i think i like Mercury more than Scott, but i can see how that's highly debatable.
But good list dude!
