Does anyone else have a problem with the whole "print your own ticket" phenomenon?

They charge you money to print your own (which you wouldn't have to pay for standard mail delivery or will call), and they get rid of one of the great old fashioned pieces of memoribilia (the ticket stub, which is no longer a "stub" as they scan barcodes...but you see what I mean.)

Print at home is convenient, and you don't have to worry about your stuff coming in the mail, but something that came out of my printer hardly qualifies as a souvenir.

I always get hard tickets.  I have been collecting them since the 80s and have 100's.

i hear ya man, not really the kind of thing that you can display.  i know at the venue that i went to you could get a stub at a table for the people that had general admission.

I have never heard about this. I have heard about a ticket via a SMS message on a Cell phone.

Yeah, I don't care for them either, I like to save my tickets in my scrapbook...a piece of paper just doesn't do it for me.

Can't stand them. My buddy used them when we saw Aerosmith and I bitched at him cause I lost out on a cool souvenir.

i like the proper tickets - have them from all the gigs I've ever been to - believe me,  its a shitload!

Didnt want the mobile phone ticket thing they were doing at Hammersmith - but apparently the queue to get into the venue with those was a lot shorter than the normal queue.

crap for not having a souvenir though!

its the same with most ticketmaster tickets...........i prefer the proper picture tickets and not the plain blue ticketmaster ones i sometimes end up with......
i know its the gig you pay to see and not the collectability of the ticket after the gig, but it takes some of the shine away when you get your ticket through the mail.
