definitly philly, it ended the tour......4 could be vancouver but those first three were all inside .  St. Louis v Montreal could be an interesting discussion.  I was only like 9 when those happened but I think Montreal was more destructive cuz they took to the streets but Axl freaking jumped into the crowd in St. Louis.  Actually I can't recall any footage of Montreal from inside so who knows.  Either way, interesting debate

it took to the streets with cops, guns, billyclubs, dogs and barricades in vancouver....i was right there dudes...musta been 50 cop cars show up. Apparently a million bucks damage to the outside of the building. the building is nestled between two elevated freeways and people were on the freeways throwing traffic signs down below to where we were...it was quite the scene man...

Well, in philly they kept us inside til they could get roughly every single police vehicle (all the shit you see on tv) in the spectrum (the other indoor arena right across from the wach center) parking lot and the cops all came in in riot gear and whatnot-- the parking lot was just a sea of lights--
inside, after sitting through a horrendously long set of Mix Master Mike, everyone sensed something was wrong, and then at about 11 (seems so early now), somebody from the crew came onstage to take something off and got nailed with a beer from the upper deck, and it was on.  I didn't think it was nearly as bad as it could've been, although a couple minor fires broke out, the new multi-million dollar soundboard was ruined, and the floor was generally really messed up.  We had seats first row on what was buckethead's side, right off the side of the stage, and the couple next to us was talking all night about being from Rhode Island, and at about 9:45, the usher turned to them and said something along the lines of "If you want to get out of here alive, leave now."  We thought he was BSing, but how wrong we were.

I didn't think it was nearly as bad as it could've been, although a couple minor fires broke out, the new multi-million dollar soundboard was ruined, and the floor was generally really messed up.? Dude! I was literally right behind you! I had 2nd row on BH's side. I got into a fistfight with some asshole walking through my row and stepping on my stuff, yelling over and over "It's not gonna happen!". For all I know, that was YOU!? hihi

Security grabbed us but, didn't toss either of us out. The one guard says to me,"It'd be better if you just left" and thats's when I realized that the show wasn't gonna happen. Security LIVES for the chance to hog tie you and fuck you up along the way as your "escorted" out and when that didn't happen,I knew that THEY knew something was up.

I went over to my friends, who'd been walking around on the floor and I told 'em what happened. That's when beer started to get thrown from the upper deck, which progressed into chairs and later on a Christmas tree.? We left the arena as a swarm of cops were coming into the lot and I taped all of the coverage from local T.V. and cable news.
I don't think there's any video available but,I saw the day after photos and the place was fuckin' TRASHED. And yeah, the million dollar soundboard, one of like 6 in the world, was destroyed completely.

It's actually kinda cool to say that you were in a Guns N' Roses riot. It's like a fuckin' badge of honor. When it was happening,we were amazed that this was goin' down right in front of us and we were part of it.
One thing I didn't get that night that I wanted was a t-shirt they were selling ('cause everything was closed down as we left) that said "I SURVIVED FIRST UNION CENTER".....which became a reality.

? ? MATT

P.S.- If anyone has the aforementioned t-shirt,I'd love to buy it!

on the above photos - are the seats on the floor (GA) ripped from the surrounding seats and thrown down - or were there seats on the floor that got ripped up and trashed there?  just curious.... amazing that no-one got seriously injured (at least i hope they didnt, I cant remember that they did)
