hey guys i'm new to the site i herd about it threw talkingmetal.com!i'm going to the show on monday night i cant wait i hope he will play some of the same songs as the 2002 tour but i herd he is playing dont cry on the tour and thats my favorite gnr tune.I'm sitting in ff section 111if anyone wants to say hi i will be attending the show with my wife lauire who has never been to a guns show before i have been to 2 of them The 1992,and 2002 tour!I CANT WAIT

After resisting the urge to go to the Chicago show (in the hopes of an Indy show), I've caved on a pure, spontaneous whim, that was aided by what seems to be the release of some better tickets (previous searches only showed upper balcony stuff, but I got a ticket in the 100s)!  Can't wait!

Buddy i saw them in halifax. and these guys are amazing youll love em. the 2002 tour was nothing like what ull hear  this time through. also  They dont play Dont Cry. However Ron Thal plays a very jazzed up version of it as a solo and the fans sing along.

If my buddy from Indy drives over (to central Illinois, where I live) I'll probably not make it up in time for a pre-party...though if I come stag, I'll probably be lookin' for a good sandwich and a beer, so I'll review this thread and make a destination decision!

From what I've read, Shoeless Joe's is in a hotel across I-90 (please correct me if I'm wrong).  I know the arena is right on the interstate, but is there a way to walk between the two, or would I have to drive from SJ to a parking garage closer to the arena?

Any help from the locals would be appreciated!

I'm not local, but I used to be.  Yes, you can walk beneath I-90 to the Arena.  I would recommend parking in the Allstate Arena parking lot and walking over to Shoeless Joes, and then walk back before the show.  This will prevent your car from being towed in the Shoeless Joe's parking lot or from you being stuck in concert traffic as you leave shoeless joes.  The place kind of sucks, but that is where everyone will be before the show so we'll see you there. 

I'm flying up from Atlanta tomorrow morning and can't wait for this.

shoeless Joes....can someone give exact walking directions from the parking lot.....

I really have a feeling this will be a extremely special show.Chicago is a great crowd, I have read countless performers speak of how they love coming here.

I think "2nd City" has some historical significance, rather than being some slight about not quite being NY or something to that effect. 

It's certainly an important place to play, though, and it should be a great show!

You walk to the main street that borders the arena to the east- I think it is Higgins Rd.  Then go south and go underneath the expressway (I-90).  Shoeless Joes is in the Best Western Hotel (at least it used to be a best western, haven't been there in a couple years but it probably still is one) on the right hand side, just after you cross under the interstate.  Outtagetme and his crew will see you there.

If I've read things correctly about other shows, the SG might come out more than once (between all acts maybe?).  I'm sure someone can better clarify.

Does anyone know if someone is replacing the "Pigeons of Shit Metal"?
