For sure. They should really get something out in the spotlight for the public to see (on TV)because sadly what most people remember is the 2002 debacle.

I have to agree that Axl's voice at the 2002 VMAs had me worried for the quality of what might be on Chinese Democracy. I thought, "Oh, No! Another aging rock vocalist gone bad!," and I'm happy to say that I've been much reassured since. While the performance pleased me from that "desperate for GNR" perspective, it wasn't great.

that would be false
GNR in 88 ripping up Jungle comes to mind as one of the greats -02 Axl, out of breath, shape and tune most certainly does not

Great surprise, but below par performance by Axl.? Anything live from 2006 blows the 02 VMA's away.
Not really. Their 2002 look was way more fun (with BH, Finck as a goth, Axl looking younger) whereas now they really look as an Adult Oriented Rock act...

FALSE: it was terrible. This is the only place where I saw people who thought the performance was actually any good.

easy answer: FALSE.
It was, using someone else's words, a "catastrophe."
for example, axl's. He said at one interview: "that was a catastrophe."

well actually John Norris wondered if axl had any memories of that night and axl responded "catastrophe"the they both laughed

I'm in agreement with several others, the 1988 VMA performance of "Welcome of the Jungle" has always stood out as the best VMA performance ever.? The 2002 Axl Rose medley was one of the worst.

Hey, don't forget that idiot Jimmy Fallon. He went apeshit over it on stage, and then again on Conan O'Brien a few days later.

Oh dear god no, VMA 2002 was utter crap. It made me cringe.
Madagascar was decent, but WTTJ was unbearable. If they were to do the VMA's now....

i am afraid i have to agree. the wttj and paradise city parts of the medley were utter cringeworthy and it had me worried as to the future of the band to be honest. axl has also come out and said pretty much the same thing. However, my worries were extinguished when the 2006 tour started and we heard axl back to his best. it may have took him 4 years to get there but he is back to his best. he looks better and sounds better.
i don't know of anyone who enjoyed the 2002 vma's. obviously it was great to see them but the performance.......................
anyway, we should just enjoy now and forget about any bad performances.
