In between guessing the release date and reading updates from the shows, I thought we could have something less serious to do.

What songs are they playing before GN'R hits the stage?

I recognized several of the songs and I think it's an interesting mix of artists/songs.

If you recognized a track, please list it here.

The ones I remember right now are:

Queens Of The Stone Age "Feel Good Hit Of The Summer"
The Hives "I Hate to Say I Told You So"
The Subways "Rock & Roll Queen"
The Sex Pistols "Holidays In The Sun"

In St-John they also played Tired of waiting by The Trews.  I remember noticing that one while we were waiting.

The Back In Black album in its entirety... lots of Metallica (For Whom the Bell Tolls and Battery come to mind)

Are these songs prior to the shows usually picked by the performing artists (in this case GNR) or is it just up to the venue what songs play?

Iggy Pop - Search and Destroy
Buckcherry - Crazy Bitch

Those are really the only ones I can remember with a title, but I know they played a couple of Zeppelin songs, a couple AC/DC songs, and a Rage Against The Machine song.

Since they play a lot of the same songs at each show, I assume they're picked by somebody in or around the band.

I don't remember exactly what songs they played in Toronto, but I remember they had like 10-15 songs are just repeated them over and over again.  It got really annoying.

I seem to remember a lot of Back in Black from MSG, but I was a little drunk Smiley Not sure how this thread is different from talking about what the opening bands play, which we aren't allowed to do are we?

Think about it for a while. I'm sure it'll make sense.

#1 This isn't an show update thread.
#2 The songs are played at a GN'R show. Not by an opening act at an GN'R headlining gig.

Wow, there's a difference.  Roll Eyes
