WHOAMIGOD I made that video  Shocked

I believe that someone posted (on youtube) about how he's using effects on his voice. That makes sense, but when you think about it, why didnt he use the effects during the Rio clip? Plus, I'm sure the echo is because it's an outdoor concert.

Oh, and that clip is kinda shitty...I made it in like 5 minutes before I had to go to my final drivers ed  hihi

Hello!
Sorry! No effects on his voice.

I was hoping someone besides me believed that!

Why is it not possible that the man (and his band) just happen to be at the top of their game right now??

I am not sold on BBF's contributions thus far. His shred in KOHD is abysmally out of place, Nightrain is sloppy, and some of? Bucket's cool TWAT effects are skipped altogether.

He is a damn nice guy though. I am comfortable with him keeping the porchlight on for the return of Bucket.

I think Ron is cleaner and faster than Buckethead in that nightrain-clip (or any other), not sloppy at all.

I'm not saying people should like it more, I'm only having a very hard time finding the supposed sloppyness in Ron's

playing.

Why TWAT is dragged into this discussion (after all, we were discussing nightrain and not even the guitars), where

Buckethead never even performed the song live, puzzles me.

On topic:

Vox-wise Axl came a long way since '02, tinkered or not, the progress is pretty obvious.

TWAT is revelant because several effects were skipped in the live version performed by Ron.

Bucket is much cleaner than Ron with Nightrain, much more melodic too. The 01 clip was from Rio 3 whose soundboard was extremely thin and ill mixed. The SBs from Boston 02 and Rock Am Ring 06 clearly show a marked difference between Big B and B Foot.

I find that i'm far more powerful and effective when i can celebrate another's way, rather than to wish to own it.

Axl sounds better than ever in 2006 and Buckethead kicks Bumblefoot's ass.

Nuff said.

The best "Nightrain" solo I have heard so far was London (Canada) in 2002 with Buckethead.

Thanks Beta...the reason I brought it up was because it was obviously someone who didnt like Axl or the new guys and was trying to say something negative.

Thanks for clearing that up  Cool

My fav versions of nighttrain are all from 87 or 88 with steven on drums, its just got that groove to it. Axl sounds great in 06 though.

Buckethead SUCKED big time on GnR.
He just plain SUCKED a lot of ass.
IMO His style didn't mesh at all with GnR's.
Played the same fuckin' lick on a different key on every damn song, and isn't half the musician (and guitarist) that Ron is.
I think BBF is by far a more suitable choice for Gnr.

And he beats the shit out of every song on the set.

And Axl's voice is rocking.
I'm glad he isn't using that dying cat squeak he used in 02.

That's pretty cool he sounds best in 92 but 06 sounds fucking good too. 1992 he just has that raw power and aggression in his voice that isnt quite there in 2006. What the fuck was wrong with this voice in 2001/02 terrible.

Same here. Even '92 doesn't sound as great.

Just watch different versions of 02'.  Especially Live and Let Die, he has NEVER held notes that long.  He hasn't held a note that long ONE time in 06.  I prefer the 02' band and voice ALL the way!  The 06' band does sound tighter, but none of the guitarists hold a candle to BUCKETHEAD.

I saw that performance at my local theatre.  It was professionally shot, and the sound is adjusted to sound better.  If 02' had these qualities it would blow this version out of the water.  But this performance IS great.

I think this pisses all over the 91-93, 01-02 and 06 versions.

He only held the LALD notes longer because he was using his head voice and that requires less breath.
