My Uslessness with women strikes again

Im about to go and visit someone who I have been building a relationship with for you a while, she used to work near me and we got talking by accident in a bar she left me her e-mail adress as she was moving away, well anyway we have been chatting for ages on both phone and e-mail, everything has been going well and im only around a week away till me planned visit.

Despite this last night I get in from work stressed out with a few beers in the system and people giving me shit, so I start talking to her and then from nowhere I have said how much I cant wait and she responds but sounds a little off I asked her if she was seeing someone which is why she seems to be off with me, next thing I know she has accused me of not trusting her and no longer wants me to go and visit.

Why do I shoot myself in the foot so much when it comes to women.

I e-mailed her today apologising if I upset her and that I do trust her, I have said I wont talk to her unless she wants me to and that i hoped I hadnt blown it.

Anyway why is it I cant just relax and go with the flow when it comes to women I like.

No doubt you lot will redicule me and I cant blame you it sounds pathetic but i needed to let off steam.

Don't talk to her when you drunk.. You probably come off as desperate or helpless. She needs a guy to take care of her & protect her, which you don't really exude when you sound a wee bit tipsy.


I'm not trying to ridicule you, just my asessment of the situation. I'm not very good with girls myself, but the way you say "you can't wait" maybe you  came off as "overly" anxious, then immediately you became insecure with "are you seeing someone else"

I don't think she is, I think she would have told you. I think she did lose a little bit of interest. I'd call her later today, and be sober when you do. And admit you 'went out with the guys last night and had a few beers in ya.'  It's a decent excuse for sounding miserable.

Cheers guys, well 2 days on and still not heard anything guess it was never mant to work out, shame I dont get paid till monday id be going out this weekend to make up for it.

I tend to be on the quiet side, used to have a few beers in me sometimes before I would call a girl-they prefer you sober, be yourself-sometmes drinking can make you talk more/seem more outgoing, but it can may you say things that might come out wrong/say things you regret
