The Story Will Unfold

« on: November 21, 2006, 06:02:25 PM »

Maybe one of the Americans on the board can answer this question..

Once GNR have played all the dates booked up until San Diego on 16 Jan, will that equal a full North American tour or is it likely more dates will need to be added for completeness?

I would imagine they would want to play right across america to win people over and gain acceptance from the average fan before releasing CD.  If that is the case I can't imagine CD coming out until mid Jan/Feb.  They may even want to gig in the major Austalian cities before a release.  Just an idea...

I am a little confused about that myself...I would think that you would release an album and tour at the same time so that your rave concert reviews will fuel album sales. So why not have dates into Jan? The rescheduled shows had to go in Jan, and they had to be rescheduled quickly....you cant just cancel the first shows of the tour. I think the if and when of a second leg will largely depent upon the release(?) of CD. Obvioulsy if it does not drop in Dec. then alot of people will be dissapointed and the ticket sales for a second leg would suck........so why are there no dates yet?

Because of what you just typed.  I can't see adding a second leg until CD is announced for release.

Exactly why the dates have not been announced....if even planned. Good thing most of the tickets for the rescheduled Jan shows were already sold huh?

Says who and where were these dates announced?  Besides, I am not even saying they aren't booking venues (in fact it's smart of them to plan ahead and do so), all I am saying is that if they want to keep up the crowds they have to release material which I am sure they will between now and February.

ALL the summer tours and tours for the rest of the year are worked out now...thats why you hear all these rumors of Def leppard/Kiss tours etc....

also, Merck told me in an email that they will add more US dates to this leg.
