I can't say I like all the "hired hands" comments - the new Guns have more than proved themselves, in my opinion, but I have to agree with the "patience is wearing thin" comment.
They wont prove themselves until they release the album. Playing 20 year old tunes written by someone else, and a handful of mediocre new songs doesnt prove anything.

Right. Being excellent performers and writing incredible new music we've recently has access to does.

Anyone who practices someone elses songs for 10 years could be quite proficient at playing and performing them Im sure. Plus 'the incredible new music' is hardly life changing is it? IRS, Better, CITR, TWAT - from those songs they havnt proved a great deal.
Just my opinion. The album will be proof of what they are capable of, whether its good or bad. Until then theyre just playing someone elses material - stage diving, string punching, and silly shaped guitars wont change that.

I honestly think you're going to continue to be disappointed in this band no matter what happens if you're impressed by all of the music they've created thus far. If those songs haven't "proved a great deal" to you then I'm pretty sure you already know you don't like Chinese Democracy. We've had access to over 50% of the final track list thus far. That would mean that the final 4 or 5 songs we haven't heard yet would have to be flat out incredible for you in actually like the album or the lineup I guess.

Correct.
Although we dont know that we've heard over 50% of the tracklist because we dont know what the track list definitely is. Sadly, out of the new songs for me, the only one that actually shines is TWAT, the rest dont do the band name justice, surely you cant think that Rhiad and CD are amazing?
I hope the album will prove me wrong - but the chances of us ever seeing it....well.

Since the album is coming out by the end of the year, I'd say we'll see it. In all honesty I've never been a big Rhiad fan but I really do love the title track.
As far as the amount of material we've heard; assuming the tracks they've played lately are on the record then we've heard 6 or 7 tracks from an album Axl said to be 13 tracks long. How is that not around 50%?

It is around 50% of the album if we know that those tracks are definitely on the album but we dont know the final tracklist. It would be a shame to wait 14 years for an album and have had half of those songs for a year or more when (if) it actually comes out.
Still, Im glad your optimistic it'll be out this year.

I can't believe this jerk-off has the balls to review a show he so noticeably missed.? Can anybody round up the e-mail to the editor?? Who knows, maybe the editor or publisher has the balls to fire this fuckhead.? ?
Oh well, at least the gutless critics' reviews have been positive, and rightfully so.? The '06 version of GNR kicks ass live.? ?
Try this man.

Back on topic here...thanks to Crowebar. My e-mail has been sent. I also agree with D's earlier post, a negative review is one thing, but this isn't. It's actually fairly positive, as most reviews have been on this tour. This guy's paid for reviewing shows. Obviously, he wasn't doing his job.
