According to South Africa's Mail & Guardian Online, dozens of literary masterpieces and international bestsellers have been banned in Iran in a dramatic rise in censorship that has plunged the country's publishing industry into crisis. Among the forbidden items is a successful series of books featuring lyrics by BLACK SABBATH, QUEEN and GUNS N' ROSES. Stores were told to remove the books or face closure. Permission was subsequently denied for the publisher to reprint.

The clampdown has been headed by the hardline Culture Minister, Mohammed Hossein Saffar Harandi, a former revolutionary guard and close ally of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. It follows a relative thaw during the eight-year presidency of Ahmadinejad's reformist predecessor, Mohammed Khatami.

So I take it Guns won't be peforming in Iran anytime soon?  Smiley

iran is a fuckin' nazi state!! no wonder organisations that practice freedom of speach are banned over there...

i'm gn'r and thousands of other bands and cultural products are banned in iran, north korea cuba etc. etc.

please tell what isn't banned in iran (they banned face of his women,banned women rights for education,banned to have a atitude,banned thoughts)
Well in Serbia is one area wwhere muslims lives,and they are very peaceful and nice people...

but from iran,avganistan came about 100 hundred extremistcs which name is "vahabie",and they make a trouble for98 % of muslims population in Serbia...

i want to say the most muslims are good and peaccefull people,but also excist very excremicts and dangerous people whobelieves in "alah"

I guess there are also some dangerous extremists in the evangelical parts of the world:)Smiley Historically not to mention the crucades and witch burning in the middle age in the name of god.....any kind of extremism is fucked up
