Do you guys think that since we know that bumblefoots not gonna be on the album, and buckets parts are supposedly staying, that he would attend a release party of somesort? It would be cool i guess since he is on a large majority of the album and he deserves the credit for his skills.  But I also wouldn't want to hurt the band's new image without him.  I love Ron though and his style, but bucket is a crazy virtuoso.  I just wanted to know your guys thoughts on it.  Considering if its true, the recent statement about frank being on 5 tracks for cd, may not surprise me if they did let ron re-record some of buckets parts, anythings possible with this band.

If Frank has layed down contributions to the record, it would be logical to think that Bumblefoot would have had a chance to do the same since May.

he never said BBF recorded any songs, he said something like bbf and frank have been playing some songs that will appear on the record, but that could also mean they have rehearsed those songs, not that they have recorded anything, but since somesaid frank said he was on 5 tracks of CD BBF is prolly on the record too

Even if he only recorded 5 songs like Frank, there is still a good chance Buckethead's parts will surface on more than half the record.

No. Buckethead will , IMHO , never be back. GNR tried like CRAZY to get him back right up to a week before the kickoff shows in May. Infact they were still trying as Ron was rehearsing.  ok

That said , they probably would jump at the chance to have him back if he would come back. But as of now they probably would not admit that as Ron is to be made to feel like "family" and all. But let it be known that Ron would not be there if they coulda got Bucket and if the MORNING of the 1st NYC show if Bucket woulda called and said "I'm on my way" Ron would not be there now.

Peace guys.  peace

I think Ron knows this too. I think BH said no because there was still not release date when they asked him to come back. I would bet BH would have came back in CD was released in May before the  hammterstein gigs.

I don't understand the Del james comment about BH as you do. For me, he means they tried to get BH back in 2004, not 2006, because he spoke about Eric Cadieux and Joe Satriani to get in touch wth BBF, all that happened in 2004. Those contacts happened in 2004.

Plus, I can't see why it would have been for 2006, have you ever heard and read Tommy speaking about buckethead?
There is NO WAY the band tried to bring him back this year without Tommy's approval. and Tommy does NOT want BH back (and he is right!).
I think it's pretty obvious he meant 2004.

Who cares?

Everything happens for a reason, and with that said, Bumblefoot was destined to be in this incarnation of the band, not Buckethead.

It was known from people that talk to the band and or BH that gnr was trying to get BH to rejoin earlier in the year.

Unfortunately It seems Bucket wants nothing to do with GnR ever again. Axl wanted him back badly, I dunno how the rest of the band felt about it but based on what they've said about him since, I'd wager there's friction between some of the band and Bucket, which is probably the real reason why he left in the first place and why he wont come back (I doubt you'll ever see Brain back either).

Axl should just open a can of smackdown on the fuckers and move Heaven and Earth to get Bucket and Brain back.

I don't think he's going to go begging them to come back, no matter how awesome they are.

Yeah I know it's never gonna happen but, as good as Ron is, I'm just bitter I'll never see Bucket rip into Better, TWAT, IRS and god knows what other nuggets of Bucket gold from CD.

What I think is surprising is that Axl has always kinda' given the impression that if you betray, or stab him in the back, the relationship is done.

In the initial press release about Buckethead quitting Gn'R, Axl sounds really bitter and upset concerning Bucket's departure, so I think it's rather interesting that despite that obvious resentment, Axl would persue Buckethead in attempts of having him re-join the lineup instead of just searching elsewhere for a replacement.

I guess what Buckethead brought to the album, and what his skills could offer in aiding Axl's artistic vision far outweighed the hurt feelings Axl probably felt with regards to Bucket's abrupt departure.

Me too, it's the biggest missed opportunity in GNR's long and storied history. But hell, maybe Ron will step up and melt our faces off one of these days. Time will tell.

It's an indication to just how awesome Bucket's contribution to CD are and could have been and why he should STAY ON THE ALBUM!
