I will be in attendance for this one. Can't wait, as I'm sure it will be a kick-ass show. I would like to respectfully request "Rocket Queen" as well. I have seen GNR in Toronto twice before, and both were fantastic shows.

And to the Bruins fan: we thank you for the Raycroft trade!

And we thank you for the Raycroft trade as it gave us Tuka Rask - the best goalie not playing in the NHL  ok

Figures that on a Canadian GNR thread, talk would turn to hockey. Gill has actually been one of our steadiest defenders, so Bruins lose again! Rask is still far removed from the NHL, or even signing a contract with the Bruins.

Back on topic, it should be interesting to see what Baz has to say, being from Toronto. I am sure he will enjoy playing the ACC.

Feel free to give us an extra-long show, Axl!

FOR EVERYONE GOING TO THE TORONTO SHOW: PLEASE READ!!!

Hey,

So someone from the Dust N' Bones mailing list reminded everyone that the ACC has a very strict curfew of 11pm.  She called the venue and they said it's lights out after 11:00pm.  Though this isn't something new, as it had one in 2002, the venue is very adament about enforcing it.  When Velvet Revolver played here two years ago, they had to forgo the openning band as the equipment was held up coming over the border and there wasn't enough time to put on a full VR setlist if a band openned for them.  Not saying that Axl might ignore this, but remember GNR came on around 8:30 in Dublin 'cause of the very strict curfew imposed there.  I was planning on arriving around 10:45, but I'm taking my blackberry to check for updates here.

Whoever is doing updates here, can you please make sure you let it be known when the openning band is done.  It's very confusing as I'm not sure how many openning bands there's going to be (Suicide Girls, Bach, and that local band).  Anyway, just thought this was something to be aware of.

Cheers,

Andrew

If memory serves me correctly, they played from 11pm - 1am in 2002.

Edit: meant to say 1am, not 2am.

They did start at 11 in 2002 and played about 2 hours.. the subway was still running after they were done so it was before 1:30. I am hoping he doesn't come on much later than 11:15 as if you do take transit to the show you will be SOL trying to get home if they play a full set and i think the last Go train out of there is like Midnight so thats even worse for those folks.

yes it was 10:50pm start time....I think I was the last one in my seat front row dead centre.....As I was in the cab right behind the limo carrying Axl to the ACC....

We were waiting for him at the hotel......he went out the back door and we ended up racing to our seats past everyone and ran straight to the front....no General Admission it was awesome.

Seconds later it started.

The last time they played @ The Air Canada Centre (2002) they didn't hit the stage until about 10:35PM:

Agreed

My ears permanantly ring from too many shows without plugs when I was younger and I wish I hadn't sacrificed a bit better sound for permanent hearing damage

You could by 2 sets for them just in case. I don't think they are very expensive. I would recomend it definatley....most of us older cats are already half deaf, ?it could be that your kids get there and can't even take how loud it is (being there first show and haven't blown out there ears like us) at least your covered instead of risking a night that they might not be able to fully enjoy.
