Just a thought about possible CD ....

We've heard about 7 or more songs from this album. I feel that seems like alot, half the surprise is known already.
Do you think that it may possibly be a double CD. We know they have 2-3 albums worth of finished or semi-finished songs for some time now.
Why wait and release later. Just do a double album now. I have a strange feeling (but I admit its a long shot) this may be the case.
It would be a massive move by AXL and it would shut us all up (fans and non-fans for years to come)
That would *(^%ing rule !!!!!!!!!
After listening to the leaks with a fine tooth comb for several months now, I have come to the realization that this album is worth the wait and that AXL is a lyrical genius.
Peace
Please don't bash me. I only wish the best to GNR and its diehard fans.

There is potentially multiple albums worth of material
There is a POSSIBILITY (i don't know this for sure, just my understanding from what i've seen/read), that some of the leaks/live versions are songs that MAY not be on the 'first' album to come out, since there has been loose talk of a release of multiple albums over a period of years
And then there is the standard argument of double albums and their real value. This is in no way critical to the quality of the material to come, but there is the big threat that the more songs on the album, the more songs will get overlooked or it may drag on. Now I know there are obviously the very 'passionate' GNR fans who would sit back and listen to 4 discs worth of songs and come back a month later and ask for the next lot, but I personally think it is a better idea, just for starters, to have a single disc, trimmed down, average length, 10 or 11 of the strongest possible songs for people to sink their teeth into and absorb, especially since the first album that comes out will be the one that sets 'the tone' for the band's creative future, yknow

the leaks we've all heard would be fine with me. studio tracks of silkworms and rhiad would be super sweet.
two dogged tracks but studio polished versions of them i bet are very good

Then again, we may have only heard 2 or 3 songs that'll be on the album. I guess we'll see if it ever comes out.

Not bashing, but here are my thoughts:
1. Double albums generally don't sell as well as single albums. The band needs to make money and trying to reconvert fans while at the same time charging alot of money isn't the way to do it.
2. Releasing 10 tracks a year over 3-4 years will keep material fresh instead of packing it all at once. GNR have been around for what, 18 years lets say (since Appetite) and since then they've had 65 songs released (including OMG and SFTD, but not including stuff on singles). For example, they could have given us a new album every 3 years with 11 songs on it and we'd be getting new material to this day, or they could have released 65 songs 18 years ago... Tell me which you'd prefer (probably somewhere in between but closer to which extreme).
3. Considering that we've only heard at most 4 demo recordings, I think what you hear on the album is going to differ and be fresh when you listen to it. The stuff we've heard live will have a different feel when it's recorded so it'll still be interesting to listen to.
As long as he keeps the wait down to less then 2 years for new material, I'll be happy.

Anything is possible. I'm certaintly not turned off to the idea of a double-album.
Axl said 13 tracks on Chinese Democracy.
He never said how many tracks were going to be on Chinese Democracy II.
