Hell I'd be happy to see them opening, and I'm female.
It'd be an imporvement on Bullet For My Valentine anyway.

Burlesque is much more than porn. ?Theres one hell of a lot less nakedness and infinately more performance and entertainment value thrown in instead. ?Its bascially a theater/dance performance.
As the Wikiedia page said "Put simply, Burlesque means "imitation" - to satirize or parody. Burlesque is a style of live entertainment that encompasses pastiche, parody and wit. The genre traditionally encompasses a variety of acts such as dancing girls, chanson singers, comedians, mime artists and strip tease artistes, all satirical and with a saucy edge. The striptease quotient of Burlesque is not akin to modern day strippers; one is theatre, the other is not."

A lot of parents would probably consider it inappropriate for their kids, but then I'd think those people would consider a normal GNR gig to be inappropriate anyway. ?Both shows I went to there were girls flashing the cameras, and audience. ?At Download I even saw a few naked people walking around the campsite.
And on top of that did someone forget that a lot of GNR songs are about sex and drugs? ?Not exactly child friendly.

Oh and to whoever complained that the Suicide Girls claim to be feminists and clearly aren't the feminist part is in the buisness side of things. ?Its entirely up to the girls what they do, unlike most modelling/talent agencies where they're told what to do and get fired if they don't like it.

EDIT:  It would probably be cooler if it was like a guys night out or something but I'm going with my girl, so I'll have to pretend to hate it.

actaully, i've been to see SG before and there were A LOT of women in the crowd.  maybe your girlfriend will enjoy the show.  talk it up, and explain to her what it's about so that she has an open mind when she goes.  i'm sure she'll enjoy it.

This is so much better than Pappa Roach. I don't care if you consider them porn or berleqsue (I guess they're a mix)... this will actually keep me entertained Wink

it's a cool idea for an opener. i liked mix master mike and i like gnr pushing for more original stuff. as for bringing a wife/girlfriend my experience is a lot of women like burlesque alot just like they like watching shows like next top model.

You are going to see Guns N Fucking Roses, not some sorry assed bible thumpers.

Charming. Anti-Christian/Anti-Semetic remarks already?

This has nothing to do with whether I like porn or not. It's about going to see a band that is trying to gain momentum and I don't see this helping matters whatsoever. If tatooed tits and ass get people through the door, hoorah. I think the cost will be far greater.

I paid to see GnR, if I get to see a burlesque show before hand then all the better (most opening acts bore the shit out of me, so this'll be an interesting change.) This is a rock show not some Barney the Dinosaur get together. Don't want to see it? show up later. Whining about paying to  see support acts? Sell your ticket to someone else. It's easy.

I paid 75 bucks to see Guns N' Roses.  I didn't much care who was opening at first.  I heard it was Sebastien Bach, but he couldn't make it.  I was a bit dissapointed.  Then I heard it could have been Papa Roach.  Im more than exstatic that its not.  Suicide Girls are definitely gonna entertain.   I'd sooner see them perform anyday over Papa Roach.

If this is true, then I wouldn't worry about it.

I say give them a chance and then decided for yourselves if you'd like to stay for their entire set. ?If not, then simply use that time to visit the merch booths, use the restrooms, or whatever you'd like to do until they're finished.

Granted, I've never seen any of their shows/performances, but I have heard of them and I'm actually a bit curious as to what kind of performance they'd create for this tour. ?

If they're not my cup of tea, I'll leave and return when they're done... it's that simple.

Cheers,
W.R.

t&a at a rock show is NOT going to hurt things. Plus, Suicide Girls are incredibly popular amongst the 16-20 year old crowd, a lot of girls idolize em (I know a few).

Bach is still gonna open... ?He goes first, then <insert second act here -- currently the Suicide Girls>, then GNR.

But seriously, we can't all be prudes and someone has to do it. Me? I'm going for a spectacle and be entertained, which is what a show like this is all about.

Ok I'm game:

This is a different situation. I WANT to see GnR, I WANT to see Bach. I'm not a fan of a lot of the other opening acts GnR has used in this tour or the last so I'd prefer some eye candy than shite music.

That depends... ?If I went to see naked chicks and I got to see dudes playing music too, I would consider the latter a bonus. ?If I went to see naked chicks and got to see dudes playing music instead, well then, I would be disappointed.

Ok first I have no issue with this desision just bringing up the point that some parents will be upset by this.  Yes most parents have no fuckin clue what teenagers are into these days.  I was thinking more about those who might bring younger kids like 10-12 more then teenagers.  Any 13 year old who has access to the net as seen far more then what these ladies will be showing.

Also I think it fits in great with the whole GnR theme of party until early morning theme that GnR is going for on this tour THEY ARE BRINGING ROCK SHOWS BACK TO WHAT THEY SHOULD BE.
