Its a bit worrying that Scott is doing solo albums when he should be comitted to VR, but at least we wont have to wait 13+ years for the album I hope.

When they have the album out Im sure you'll hear more about them. I guess they just want to get it right or maybe Scott has told the rest of the band to fuck off and is auditioning people with hand puppets as we write this.

I'm not too worried about Scott's solo album or anything..  I think he has been working on that forever. I do think the guys lost some momentum or maybe hit some rough times.. But from what I hear we will be seeing the new album by spring!  I would think that we will start to see things rolling right along again soon.

Its a massive burden being stuck in the limelight for a good while, everyone needs a break from that. The guys are most probably busy with the album and keeping a low profile to get some work done and Scott's doing his own little sideline to keep himself happy. Probably good to keep busy and not slip back on the heroine, that's always gonna be a struggle. I reckon we'll get an awesome album, even better than Contraband

He's also been doing solo-shows. And his album is going to be released in early '07 I beleive. I hope VR starts touring soon. Just missed them last time they were around.

Yeah, I think they gave Rick Rubin some material and he felt they weren't quite ready & they needed to work on the songs a bit. He's recording with someone right now (U2? I think), then both VR & Metallica are waiting for him. We'll see who goes first. I'd expect both recording session to go by pretty fast, as they're veterans and haven't put an album out in a while, should have the songs all worked out. I'd expect both albums to come out around May.

I think that is a big part of it but also I think they are a bit of a fad. I like em but I think only coz of the GN'R connection.

I don't really see how VR are just a "fad".

My guess is that they're simply taking their time with the follow up to Contraband, and maybe to make sure they put out something that stands up strongly against CD.

Think about it - in the lead up to the release of Contraband, I think they felt they had more to prove being the first release of the 3 ex-GN'R guys new music together since leaving GN'R. Well Contraband came out, was quite successful and so were the tours and shows that followed.

I think VR still have a fire, but they have other priorities with families and stuff. They're not the same young guys out to conquer the world like they used to be. And I'm fine with that.
I'm patient to wait and get something whenever they choose to release it.

Plus Matt said not too long ago that they were gearing up for the next album/tour cycle plus updating the official website, so I think we all just need some patience...

And there's enough other music out there to keep everyone occupied in the meantime. ok

I got a different impression from the first album. I got a "Well Axl is not doing shit so we are better then him" impression. And to be honest I didnt think there would be another album. With all this "Super Group" stuff happening atm I think VR and the rest including INXS will die in the arse. I Hope im wrong but its just the way i see it.
