Best Buy says end of Nov. or 1st wk of Dec.

My best friend works as a supervisor at best buy and I can tell you that whoever told you the end of november or first week in december is full of bullshit. The supervisor I know is a huge Guns fan and checks the company's computers daily for information on a release date and it's just there. There is no Chinese Democracy info in Best Buy computers. Sorry

Did you not read his post?? the guy said the sheet they get from the record company told them theres no definite date, but probably should be out last week of november or within first 2 weeks of december.

AGAIN, this goes back to the other thread on this board about concerns of a music employees release date about CD. it doesn't matter what any sheet given to any store says...music isn't sold from sheets, it is sold from computers and unless that information is in a CPU it doesn't matter. I just wrote on a napkin with purple crayon that Chinese Democracy is coming out November 21st...you know what that means? The same thing as Best Buy getting a sheet that says CD at the end of November.

When that information is put into a computer and the order for CD is placed, then we will have something to discuss

but if management is truely wanting to keep this secret they wouldnt be able to do thta until they got word from management (ok put it in the comp) and that should take just a few minutes

I'll ask the vendor at my store whats up with the release.  He'd be a good as source as any..plus there is already a rumor going around that a vendor has said Nov. 28 to be the date....I'll double check it next time I work.

Just called Best Buy in NoHo (manhattan)  to pay a bill and Im reading this thread, so I asked them if they had a release date and they said hold on, she starts talking to people that work there with the phone down and I cant really understand what they're saying.  Then she picks the phone back up and says "We originally had an early December release date but that has now been pushed back and we do not know when the release date is now."

Nothing's listed in the AllMusicGuide database. If the album gets a release it'll be posted there almost immediately. This is the system that Barnes, Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, Borders, etc. etc. etc. run their music databases on. All release dates are processed through this database. Amazon also uses it (through third party or whatever).

I was at Best Buy tonight(Joliet IL) I asked the dude about a date, he had/found nothing as I expected...

So I asked him how long would it take, say if they just decided to drop it in on them...how much notice would there store have. He said by Fri, they would know what is coming on Tuesday.

Not that this has anything to do with anything, but Limp Bizkit released a CD a year ago or so, with no advertisement whatsoever. All the sudden it was in the ad papers in the Sunday paper for a Tues release

I think with all the hype,speculation, and all the pressure it brings on the album, I feel jsut sneaking it out is a fantastic idea. Instead of a big money ad campaign, that will be looked at through a microscope if first week sales arent 500,000 or better.

If it comes out lowkey,  create a buzz instore and through radio chat...let the radio play songs....its Xmasshopping season....play new stuff on tour...let the album sell 20,000 week 1, then 50,000 week 2, 100,000 week 3 and so on and so on. Keep the singles coming, keep the tour online, do TV shows like Conan, Daly SHow, Letterman, SNL and whatever else

My best friend's uncle's brother's roommate told me that he was at the mall and talked to a guy who met a guy who had a sister who was at the mall yesterday and said she ran into an older guy who said the security guard said that he was at circut city and was told by a janitor who talked to a kid that talked to a guy who worked there and he said the album is out december 5th. True story, I swear, you can call circuit city to confirm.
