The MSG show. (everyone read this topic).

Do we really need 20 MSG show topics? Everyone is posting a freaking topic about it like it's going to be God's gift to music.
Why is everyone so obsessed with the thought that something huge is going to happen at this show? I mean, sure it's a big show, it could be the biggest on the tour, but did they do anything special in 2002? Did they do anything special at Hammerstein?
Gn'R is sticking to a strict formula for these shows, and just because it's MSG doesn't mean it's going to change. Hell I don't know, something big could happen.. but you're all setting yourself up for a big disapointment if nothing big happens.
Everyone is expecting new songs, release dates announced, Jesus to be in the audience, and if we're lucky one of the first 2 will happen - but I wouldn't put my life on it.. If anything I'd be more obsessed about the shows at the Forum in LA, I mean there's what, 3 or 4 of them there?
MSG will be a big show, it'll probably be one of the best efforts from Gn'R on this tour, but don't set yourself up for a big disapointment. Treat it as if it were just any other show, and if something big happens then go nuts. If your attending this show, have a fucking blast - but if you go home after seeing the same setlist as the past few shows don't hang your head.
And stop making MSG topics, we don't need half the topics on the front board about MSG (I know this is another MSG topic, but I think this needed to be said).

You do realize that you had to create an MSG show thread to ask people not to create any more MSG show threads right? Hi, Pot. I'd like you to meet Kettle.

I think New York should use the thread for the show in the On Tour section like everybody else... I don't think there will be anything different at this gig. ?
It was the same thing with the VMAs... Axl is announced as a presenter and all of a sudden the band is playing new songs and Axl is announcing release dates. ?Stop setting up new letdowns.

Actually, playing MSG **IS** a big deal. For any band really.
In my mind, its one of the worlds famous (alot like the Budakon). Thats why people are hyping the show. Its a huge venue, in a huge city. Axl loves NYC. Bands have had HBO specials taped there for gods sake. Its a historical venue and has seen some really special shows. Thats why people find it important. Ask any local band in your area..what venue would you love to sell out if you made it big? I bet 90% would say MSG. Thats why people think something magical may happen, because in the past with other bands it has!

And everyone had their eyes glued to the TV during the VMA's, just to hear Axl say I don't know how to do this blah blah blah it's the Killers.
Then everyone ran to their computer and bitched about how nothing happened.
There's a huge chance (and the most likely situation) that Gn'R will play one of the best shows ever tomorrow, and everyone will come home bitching about how awful of a show it was because prostitute wasn't played and how there wasn't a release date announced. ?I hope Axl proves me wrong, but I'm sick of seeing people on this board over hype everything to death and then bitch about how disapointed they are that nothing happened. ?It's like a record skipping.

Jesus is gonna be there?
Cool wonder who he got his ticket through...check it, out Jesus rides a harley (maybe he hooked them up with Axl for the "ad"
All the angels were gathered around
Leather boots and lace night gowns
And one started to kiss my feet
She said the Lord got a red light on at every street
My superstars were laced up tight
And all the sinners were gathered in white
The pearly gates were opened up wide
And the Lord must have seen me with his big red eyes
So I stepped out to the clouds
The holy father was getting down
And as I ordered a round of drinks
He said I got a little story tell me what you think
Moses used to sniff the lines
Noah used to rock the boat sometimes
Mary used to get undone
Jesus rode a Harley Davidson
Rock on gunners great show tonight....it's a biggy
