HMV UK CD Release date 13th Nov on national computer DISCONTINUED

Just to say i had a chat with the very helpfiul guy at HMV when I told him I wanted the release date he chuckled but looked on the computer.

He was shocked and pleasantly suprised that on the computer (i also read it) it was down for 13th November but next to it had discontinued. He said 21st november sounded much more probable.

Our patience has paid off my friends. My money would be on 21st November so many people think so. and I reckon it would be pure genius marketing strategy to release with no warning. think about it, will easily get onto national tv and national bbc/abc news channels. free advertising with the hy pe and shock. I can literally see riots

We have heard that "something" is supposted to happen on the 21st, but not the release.  I'm thinking that Better is dropped as a single on the 21st and that the album itsefl will be dropped on the 28th

Just my guess though, nothing more

I'm thinking about the fact right now that albums are released on Fridays in Germany. I wonder if it will be the Friday before or after the US-release?

Over here in holland albumreleases are also on fridays.Usually on the friday before that was the case with the last two albums I bought of American artists the new audioslave and evanescence album (I like more music than only GN'R ) they were released over here 4 days earlier. So maybe we can be very lucky people in a few days/weeks/months whatever.

If you mean the Mark Strigl comment on Talking Metal, he has now said that it won't happen. It was a small GN'R concert in NYC.

i was talking with a friend a few weeks ago (a casual GN'R supporter but never took the new line-up seriously after seeing a pic of Buckethead 2 years ago) and he said to me "did u know theres a fixed date for Chinese Democracy" and then spent the next 10 mins talking about it with me

i assume he was talking about the rolling stone date but i think its cool that people who dont follow the band everyday on the message boards are beginning to get hyped about chinese democracy.

needless to say a few days later me and about 10 friends were all in a room together and i cranked up better
and everyone thought it was amazing

Something drop on my mind (and I hate those moments), but Microsoft is releasing Zune on 14th with Zune Market Place opening... anyon thinking that with recent MLB & H-D partnering, GN'R might have partnered with Microsoft and CD will be released exclusively there on 14th and then hit the stores on 21st... or whatever.

In a pretty surprising development, Microsoft has agreed to pay Universal Music a fee for each of their Zune players. For each machine sold, the company will be paying "more than" $1 to Universal Music on the assumption that the player will be used to host music that has not been paid for.

The formula for these proceeds will be calculated based on the number of Zune units that eventually sell through to consumers as opposed to those sitting on store shelves.

According to David Geffen:

Each of these devices is used to store unpaid-for material. This way, on top of the material people do pay for, the record companies are getting paid on the devices storing the copied music.
The end result is that even if your Zune player only has independent music or legally purchased or ripped music, you will be paying Universal regardless.

I agree with what andypa1 said, and that's kind of what I've been speculating for a while. Imagine if the album is released with no official notice? Maybe there are rumours but no official confirmation and then word starts to get spread around that stores received stock of it or whatever. Can you imagine the reaction? Seriously it's Guns N Roses were talking about, doesn't matter who is in the band, what is happened over the years..Every diehard, hardcore, doubter and passer by will be flocking to get copies of that album immediately. I'm sure there will be at least ONE incident with extremely over enthusiastic fans breaking into stores to get copies of the album before the official sale at start of business or whatever. Ain't it fun.

I think that was in reference to that Del James article or whatever that guy's name is (sorry i forgot) saying about how Bumblefoot and Frank I think may have recently added parts to the album. Even if they did, I'm sure it was only small parts here and there.

In this thread alone we have something like 4 "confirmed" dates.   We've had "confirmed" dates for the last few years.

Don't you guys remember any of that stuff?   Doesn't the fact that there are 4 "confirmed" dates in this thread alone make you guys think that perhaps they don't really know?

I'm trying to hang in there as best I can but I'm starting to wear thin...I don't think I can handle the idea of a 2007 release...it's been so long already, and back in May I was so positive after hearing Axl on Trunk that we would have it by now, or that we would know when it was going to be released.
