HMV UK CD Release date 13th Nov on national computer DISCONTINUED

Just to say i had a chat with the very helpfiul guy at HMV when I told him I wanted the release date he chuckled but looked on the computer.

He was shocked and pleasantly suprised that on the computer (i also read it) it was down for 13th November but next to it had discontinued. He said 21st november sounded much more probable.

Our patience has paid off my friends. My money would be on 21st November so many people think so. and I reckon it would be pure genius marketing strategy to release with no warning. think about it, will easily get onto national tv and national bbc/abc news channels. free advertising with the hy pe and shock. I can literally see riots

I found that same thing on the HMV website.
Seems to have totally gone now though, along with a few other GnR releases. It said there were 30 albums the other day, down to 25 now.

when i read something like your post...it makes me feel butterflies in my stomach...Is it really the 21st? I cant believe its 13 days away. I guess even if it was official i would feel the same way, i've been waiting for so long

the record will be coming out in december.

this particular incident is evidence of the stupidity (and lack of mathematical ability) exhibited by the HMV staff - the 21st will not be the release date for the album in the UK as it is a tuesday*.


*unless they are planning a worldwide launch spectacular - a gimmick that wouldnt be a bad idea.

I really want this to be true and am with everyone on here who feels the same! I couldn't care how it come out as long as it does, but it would strike me as a massive marketing mistake if it came out in this manner.

Imgaine the marketing the band could have:

-15 years in the making
-The most expensive album ever made
-Rock icon recluse returns

etc, etc, etc

They could have worldwide press salivating in anticipation rather than just dumping it on the shelves like some re-issue.

But as I said, as long as I hear it I couldn't care less!

In the spirit of people calling places and asking about release dates, I just called my local Best Buy to inquire about the release date.  After being on hold for 10 minutes....a 16 year old girl, who was being coached by her manager and actually knew nothing of the subject....told me that....Chinese Democracy is supposed to come out by the end of the year, however it is not Guns N Roses, it is Axl Rose's solo project......after a good back and forth with the little girl on how it is guns n roses...she said it would most likely get delayed again.....I got a kick out of that....

I wonder who else I can call and bug.
