Hello...

It is only 2-1/2 months since my husband of 22 years unexpectedly died suddenly.? ?I have joined an online community for young widows and it has been very helpful in my journey of grief.? Already I've learned that this journey is one through unpredictable ups and downs and twists and turns through tunnels that wind and double back.? But I believe I will make it through this journey.? I am benefitting from the experience shared by those who have been on this unfortunate journey before me.? It is the hope they share that enables me and others to navigate the otherwise seemingly inescapable maze of grief.?

We do not expect to ever get over our loss...? ?only to find our way through grief to what is to be our new life.? There is no going back.? No denying that our life as I knew it is forever changed.? No choice in that.? The only choice we make is to chose to hope and believe and not give into despair.? There will be times when I will doubt my endurance... when I will tire and allow myself to fall and not get up right away.? I do however believe that my anticipating these setbacks will lessen their ability to discourage me.? I will keep in mind that those doubts will pass, just as I know the times when I feel hopeful will give way to doubts.?

Eva, like I said when I first heard, be strong.  It sounds like you are.  I can't even begin to imagine the agony and horror.  Your posts are appreciated.  They really put things into perspective.  Appreciate every day you have with your loved ones.  I guess the only thing that would keep me going is knowing that they wanted you to be happy.  Follow your dreams.
