But, then again, if GnR are true to their message of "Fuck you, we do things our way" kind of thing, they won't see the point of promotion, as their *true* fans will keep up to date by finding out themselves (getting the information, rather than having it spoon-fed).

Alternativley, i do appreciate that they want to maximise profit margins, so getting more people to be 'enlightened' of the album / single release would be a good idea for that. Also, for those less-hardcore fans who have a life and don't use GnR forums (not me ! )

I am aware of an advert that somehow got slipped with 'better' playing on it. Now it's gone, probably due to a timing mistake (the general concensus seems to think).

What's so "secret" about that? People make mistakes when releasing things to a timeline sometimes...
