For those of you with XM, you can check out the Ron & Fez show tonight on channel 202 when it replays from 12 am - 3  am EST.  The show was dominated with Guns N' Roses talk and music (its an all-talk show) as it was producer East Side Daves birthday and he was permitted to show off his Guns N' Roses obsession.  Among the songs played (some in full, some in part):

November Rain
Get In The Ring
The Garden
Hair Of The Dog
Garden Of Eden
Dead Horse
Yesterdays
Sympathy For The Devil

Among the things East Side Dave extols are Axl, the Use Your Illusions, "Knockin' On Heavens Door" and "Coma."  Host Ron Bennington talks about travelling to Sedona where people there would tell him about Axl.  There was a lot of other talk as well ("Under My Wheels," the new band and Chinese Democracy, etc.).  For those interested that dont have XM, you can get a free 3 day trial online.  Aside from the GNR talk, its perhaps the funniest, most clever radio program Ive heard.

No, its telling others about substantial GNR discussion.  If somebody mentions GNR talk on MTV, do you ask if its a war with VH1?  Nobody needs to subscribe, the trial is free and if youre not interested, fine.  Im surely not interested in your declaration against satellite radio.

Well the whole post seems a little hawkish and smells a bit like a marketing ploy.  All this talk about internet djs knowing something special is tired.  And I am certainly not interested in your declaration about my declaration.  Thanks!

Actually VH1 and MTV are owned by the same company now because of mergers... thats why there is no more music...

Dude, the guy is just lettin people know that there's an interesting program on an XM channel (this coming from a Sirius guy,btw)-- He didn't make any offers, just said if you want to listen to it, there's a free trial available.  There's not exactly a whole lot of talk on Testicle radio, or anywhere else, for that matter, about GNR, and when there is, unless of course GNR is playing a show that night, 9 times out of 10 they are bashing Axl.  If you like your unending commercials (yes satellite has limited, short commercials, but the broadcasters are allowed to have a 2 min break every hour or so right?) and your horrendous lack of talent, by all means, turn on your local FM and wait til the night of the show in your town to here anything positive about the band.  Also, not once did he talk about a dj knowing anything "special", just that they were talking about the band.  One last thing-- if its so tired, then why even look at the other thread (it says SIRIUS right in the title)?  I guess you would prefer that no one talks about GNR at all, as has happened for the last 10 years or so save for 2002

Yes, thats right.  Im a spammer with almost 4,000 posts.  You got me. ok

Satellite radio, like terrestrial radio and cable television, is a viable form of media.  If theres GNR mentions on a talk show or anything similar, its discussed here.  The truth is, this shows producer mentions GNR all of the time and I dont make a new thread each time.  I rarely make threads.  I felt this was undoubtedly substantial enough to start a thread about.  Fans that are interested in GNR discussions might be interested in this.

You seem to be a bit out of the loop - satellite radio is not internet radio.  And I said nothing about DJs knowing anything special.

Yea...but he's right. I have XM free in my new car I bought...and compared to Sirius it does blow. Sirius has way better music (play a ton more GNR), have way better talk, and sports.

The title of the thread is not XM Radio is better than Sirius, or vice-versa.

On a side note, I listened to Ron & Fez yesterday also.  I listen to it almost everyday.  East Side Dave is a GNR Fanatic.  It was awesome hearing songs on the radio that I haven't heard in ages.  How many times have you heard "Get In The Ring" on the radio?

He makes me feel very old though.  Dave says he was too young to see GNR during their first tour, because he was only 10 years old.......Damn, I'm old.

Guys, figure it out. While I am a sirius guy, this thread has nothing to do with Sirius vs. XM.  Bickering, or saying one is better than the other will only get this thread deleted.  If you need to express your feelings there are other places on this very site in which to do so.

I've never understod why people with genuine music interest wastes their time listening to radio.

On topic: Nothing new that stations talk about GN'R and speculate on release dates. But I must say it is a little sparkling that there seens to be some kind of buzz level on it. There must be some reason for the increased Guns interest. Even if it's just rumors from the business.
