Just wondering if anyone still does - I know mine are gathering dust considering how much of an improvement this years shows have seen. I could understand if you were a huge Buckethead fan, but with the setlist being generally very similar (yes, I will be reconnecting with the real world after this post) and Axl singing better/the band sounding tighter, anyone else think that other than for collection purposes, the 2002 cds are kind of redundant?

Some of them, sometimes. Mostly new songs. But I consider 2006 as waaaaaaay better year than 2001/2002..

Only the really good shows. To me, those were only Pittsburgh, Boston & MSG. Sometimes Rio III, but the 2001-02 band was very very young and unfamiliar with each other at that stage. Alot of inconsistancies live. Rio III is a good show for the rarer tracks like OMG, Silkworms & Rhiad.

I still think 2002 had some good live tracks.

For me...

It's So Easy (the best live in 2002 for the band, jmo)
Think About You (it rocks in 2006, but I still prefer alot of the 2002 performances)
The Blues (I still think 2002 is superior to 2006)
Madagascar (I still think 2002 is superior to 2006)

So there's a few tracks, I actually feel the best performances were in 2002. So that short-period is still not forgotton by this fan.

I prefer the rasp 10-fold, but I think some of those songs sounded better for some reason in 2002 for me at least. All of 'em still kick as in 2006 tho.

Only for the new songs, from the Pittsburgh show.

The Blues and Maddy. I think Axl's voice back then was way better for those tunes.

I still listen to RIR III and MSG '02

I need my Bucket fix every once in awhile, plus that band's version of "Nightrain" is still the best in my mind. peace

It's hard though... that was really a bleak time for the most part. Poor chemistry in the group, VMA's, riots and Axl did not seem well physically or mentally...

Things are much better these days. beer

No, I don't.  I still like the 2002 version of KOHD though, but all the new songs CD, Madagascar and the Blues are all significantly better.

I still prefer Chinese Democracy Boston 02 the most.

And I never listen to the '06 Blues... so it's still 02 for me.

I listen to them sometimes, but it's mostly The Blues, Rhiad and Bucketheads Nightrain solo.
