hey, im booking my hotel for NYC today, urm and i get confused with new york geography!

if it doesnt specifically say MSg or near MSG, do i look for hotels in manhattan/broadway upper west?! so confused.

help VERY much appreciated asap!

Miss Bomb - MSG is on 34th st., on the west side, near midtown.  So if I were you, I'd search "midtown Manhattan" first (if that's an option), and then look at upper west side (which wouldn't be as close, but the upper west side is a good area).

The Pennsylvania hotel is directly across from MSG.

thanks! the pennsylvania is a little more expensive that i want to go, but it looks nice. (im literally looking for a CHEAP grubby hostel or something, im spending my student loan on this!  )

Try the Trip Advisor website (http://www.tripadvisor.com) - it has honest reviews of accommodation etc and a great forum where you can ask locals for guidance.? The Hotel Pennsylvania gets terrible reviews and, personally, I wouldn't consider staying there.? That said, it does depend on your budget, of course.

When I went to the Hammestein show earlier this year, I stayed at the New Yorker Hotel (http://www.newyorkerhotel.com) and, although nothing to write home about, the room was clean, the staff were helpful and I did feel safe there.? It is reasonably priced too; well, as reasonable as any major city these days!? It is about a block from MSG.

I notice that there is a Comfort Inn Chelsea pretty near MSG too and I believe that it's been refurbished this summer, so may be worth looking at.

I'm really glad I went through Ticketmaster for tickets, and not tickets.com - its total bullshit that no-one who ordered from them got their tickets yet. How hard is it to print concert tickets?

I feel bad for two of my friends who are coming along to the show, they got GA from tickets.com, and at this point, who knows if they'll ever show..

i'm still waiting on my tix. there's 3 weeks for them to send them out, but it's still a little nerve-racking. 

i'll be taking the train from Philly, and won't be in NY until around 5. i plan to go straight to Stitch so hopefully some of you are still there.
