I found the pre-sale code on the nyc craigslist the day before that sale hit.  At 9 a.m. the next morning, I kept refreshing the page until it temporarily banned me at 9 a.m. for too many attempts.  I freaked out and switched over to the other office computer.  It was 9:10 a.m. and I wasn't getting any results for floor tickets.  I didn't know what the general admission tickets were for, so I tried about 10 times for a reserved floor seat.  Finally I got Section 5, Row N, Seats 5-6.  I'm staying with a friend's friend overlooking Ground Zero.  We're coming up on the bus from Chinatown in DC that day.  I'm so stoked.  It's also a government holiday (Veteran's Day), so I don't have to work that day either.  Ahhh.  This is gonna be bad ass!

Is this show sold out yet?

No, but it appears that the floor, sections lower than 100, section in the 100's, and sections in the 200's are mostly if not all full. There's still plenty of tickets for the 300's and 400's.

Thatll likely be a sell out then.

Is this show close to selling out?  I was still checking on Ticketmaster, all the $89 seats are gone, but you can still get the 59 and 49 ones

I probably will be sold out before the end of this week, if not sooner. I just checked, and the 300's are the only thing thats left, and Im sure that those seats are not very desirable Wink

They are doing serious radio promotion for this show on Q104.3, they are playing "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" like 50 times a day and then announcing the NY and NJ dates.  They need to get a bigger song selection though because I swear every time I get in my car this song is playing!

I would think it will be sold out fairly shortly.

Do you think that there will be a long as line again? or will there be 2 lines, 1 for GA and 1 for reserved ?

Awesome that NY has good taste in Rock N Roll. Take the two LA ampitheatre shows and put them in NY, they would have sold out by now.

I am not sure how they will conduct the GA people, I know when I saw U2 last year at MSG and had GA we were forced to stand outside and wait in a different line and it was raining like a mofo which really sucked.?

Generally when you have seats you just use the front entrance which looks like a mob scene (but is covered from the elements), not really a line per se.

I disagree. NYC is selling out because a lot of out of towners are going. People are using the opportunity to go hang out in NYC as well as see a GN'R concert. LA does not attract nearly as many tourists, simply because there is not that much to see in LA. Plus it is very far from Europe and that makes it much harder for Europeans to come to shows in LA. Not to mention the doubled airline prices. And the fact that LA doesn't have a good and convenient public transportation system as NYC does, which makes it even less attractive for out of towners.
I am sure if you compare the locals only, the LA locals are not less into R&R than the NYC locals.

Interesting theory, I wouldn't know. Seems far fetched that that many people would go to NY for a GNr concert, considering there were still some tickets left for the Vegas shows (the out of towner capital of the world I imagine). I suppose I could do research on tourism, etc, blah, blah, or take your word for it.  I will take your word for it. Iowa is getting my tourism money for the GNR concert. Haha.

Avenged 7Fold would be awesome, way better the BFMV.  Its goign to be a fun time, fucking Bach, Special guest, then GNR ... I doubt they will be on shortly after 10, more like 11.  The only thing I might bitch about after the show if they dont play it, would be the lack of There Was A Time.

Okay, after reading the reviews of The Carter I have cancelled my reservation!

Just booked into the Chelsea Star Hotel.  I have a private room (although shared bathroom) and it was just $89 per night!!! Awesome!

Location is great too -  300 West 30th Street, New York City, NY 10001
