On Kerrang TV now is the 50 biggest 21st century heroes.

Slash is number 3......how does that make any sense?

The only thing that Slash has released in the 21st century was a painfully generic and average Contraband album.

Great news!  beer Slash is a legend and he'll always be a legend!

I don't care about your remarks. You wouldn't ask the same question if Axl was the third on the list. BTW I'd be happy to see the Redhead there, too, since he's also one of the last true legends.

Let's not get this shit started again, there's numerous existing threads to give your personal Contraband review.

Look - That came off all wrong, If Slash and Axl were numbers 1/2 in the 20th century poll, then I wouldn't care at all - I'd be a proud gunner - but the fact remains, Slash has done pretty much nothing in this century, all the work he is remembered for happened in the late 20th century. If Axl was on there aswell, that would've been even more ridiculous. I know rock music in general has been shite since the turn of the century but they can't have Slash at number 3!

Top three were:
1: Billie Joe Armstrong - I would have to agree with
2: Marilyn Manson - Erm...well...
3: Slash

I guess if you're calling a number 1 album, multiple hit singles, a Grammy, successful tours and establishing an identity outside the band that originally brought him to prominence "nothing" you might be onto something.

Sounds like a terminal case of selective memory to me. yes

And to all, this isn't about Axl so let's refrain.

Thanks.

Ok, using the word "nothing" was the wrong word to use in this instance.

But fact remains, there are more than 2 other people in rock that have done more this century than Slash has.

I am actually more of a Slash fan than an Axl fan.

The quality of the work he has done in the 21st century (I like contraband, so I don't agree with you) has nothing to do with the fact that he is indeed probably one of the biggest rock heroes this century. All he needed to do was make a god damn album and put it out to be a contender for this list. Besides that, he can always fall back on his past acomplishments. He is one of the few rock icons left. Marilyn Manson is kinda in the same situation, you know: wether you like his music or not, he is a rock icon, due to his appearance and persona. And Green Day is by far the most popular rock band of the last few years, so yeah, there you have it.

Erm, no. I wasn't bashing him at all. I was merely pointing out a statement. Oh yes I forgot, because I'm a Slash fan I should be up his arse now should I?

Slash just needs to be Slash in order to be one of the greatest rock heroes of this or the 20th Century.

Out of interest, where was Axl on the list?

My thoughts exactly.. why would someone who's prime is 13 years behind him regarded as a hero of the 21st century..? lol..

Seeing who's # 1 & 2, I hope Axl is not on that "list".

Kerrang is a fucking patheric magazine. Nothing but endless shit-stirring, and pointless lists. Who needs Kerrang editors to tell them who their heroes are? What makes their opinions worth paying to read?

Kerrang likes whoever is hot shit in a particular week, and hates anyone who turns them down for an interview.
