i don't understand how slash would get any $$$$ from this new album unless he wrote part of one of the songs, which i highly doubt.  from my impressions the songs that will come out are mainly newer (written shortly before and since buckethead joined).

Definitely some sort of guerilla marketing campaign- that Slash is obviously a part of. Does he get some $$$ from a CD release at all?

Wow, I can only imagine the ripple effect this is going to have.  I can't help but think this wasn't a planned leak...the song just sounds too raw and unpolished for Axl to give it the green light given how guarded hes been with the material.  If they were so quick to shut down Trunk's leak I can only imagine if hundreds of radio stations start playing this tomorrow.  Are we going to see TONS of lawsuits from Axl's camp?  Is this going to be their excuse to release CD now for fear of more leaks?
