I think it was first made for the Best of and band later decided to use it, since it was already available.
remember, the first time this logo apeared was on the site of some venue or something like that.
and later it appeared on fortus' page.
I guess they just went along with it.

I think this would be a killer album cover for CD.
Did anyone check out the videos that these guys did? (link on the first post) Fucking amazing. I hate Motley Crue and they even made them look cool, even the Meatloaf vid looked good. They need to do GNR's first video. Without a doubt.

who knows what this GH PT 2 really is , but one thing is , IMHO , a fact .. this time next year we WONT be wondering when democracy is coming out , we will be enjoying it and seculating on what the next single will be.
It sure seemed like that back then.

ITS FUCKING REAL AND OFFICIAL- READ THE FIRST PAGE OF THE FUCKING THREAD!!!
Why the fuck would a legit company make a fake GN'R CD cover?
This company has designed alot of recent CDs - Motley's Red, White, and Crue, Audioslave's new CD and others. I think they have better shit to do than make a fake GNR cd cover for their site.
Do you people know how to fucking read?

Does not look offical because I see no interscope, geffen or universal logo anywhere on it. That is why it looks fake.
So show me where the offical logo is, or on any offical music release like amazon.com, hmv,, or something like that
Why would universal/geffen put this out now with CD being released by the end of the year?
The CD was canned BECAUSE of Chinese Democracy. Amazon had it on their site last December. No, I don't see a Geffen logo on there, but that doesn't mean its fake. Stop looking for an argument because you refuse to accept that this is real. Do you see Jarmo locking this? If it were fake, we wouldn't be allowed to discuss it.
Besides, there's red text next to the anti-piracy warning - I'm sure it says Copyright Geffen/Universal in there somewhere.

Just because I said it looks fake does not mean it is. I also had legit questions about the artwork and why it would be released anytime soon with CD coming out. So dont get your panties in a bunch and calm down with your swearing. They are legit questions. Also I said the artwork looks fan made, which mean its sucks and its like someone made it with photoshop. I would expect much better artwork from gnr. I hope CDs artwork isnt that tacky

It comes from the ealy days of mining where someone would stake a claim and start mining, if someone came along and found the place with no-one there, they would carve a nick into the beam at the entrance to the mine. 3 nicks and they took the mine from you. Also, Scouse is the name of a hotpot-type stew cooked in liverpool. ooh, How very edumacational!
also, I wouldn't be surprised if CD did have elements of the VBO artwork (assuming the VBO project is dead)
Peace, I'm off for a weekend with my lady.
Thanks!!
Never knew the actual meaning behind it...cheers (I am from the US) but really like the British culture.

I found that really funny.
