I'm curious as to how long their set will end up being. Anyone know the curfew at Hammerstein?

With Axl there is no such thing as a curfew. He comes on stage when he wants, and leaves when he wants. Who's gonna stop him? Do they want a riot on their hands by making him leave the stage early? Axl will perform as long as he wants.

I rocked out to every old song in 2002
I'll post cuts from a set list when I have CD in my hands.

Think About you, out ta get me, my michelle - if they still want to play those sometimes they should be every 3rd or 4th show, less frequently i think...
knockin' and live and let die (they shouldn't be removed entirely but played much less often)

All old covers should be done away with...
All songs not written by Axl should be retired.. including Patience.
However, it's up to Mr. Rose and his new band to decide what to play, I'll take what I get.

Live & Let Die - (great cover, but give it a rest)
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - (see above reasoning)
Think About You - (filler on Appetite...filler live...then again, filler that most band wish was their hit)
Out Ta Get Me - (good, not great)
It's So Easy - (great, but done to death)
My Michelle - (good, not great)
And...yes...
November Rain - (allow Estranged to garner some love...or a new epic)
So that would leave Appetite's BEST six songs IMO.
Nightrain
Mr. Brownstone
Welcome to the Jungle
Sweet Child O'Mine
Paradise City
Rocket Queen
The only bit of Lies.
Patience
The sole Illusion survivor...and one of my top 3 GN'R songs.
You Could Be Mine
Previously heard CD tracks...still new, even if they are five or so years old.
Chinese Democracy
Madagascar
The Blues
And seven more songs (if the setlists are the same length as the '02 shows)
I'll have...
Better
There Was a Time
NEW SONG
(rocker)
NEW SONG
(epic)
NEW SONG
(first single)
And top that off with...
Dead Horse
Estranged
And if I feel lucky and Uncle Axl decides to add 3 more tunes for his fans in NY...
Coma
Civil War
NEW SONG
(rocker)

Obviously, the last tour leaned far too heavily on the old material, and this time out I'd really like that changed - Hence forth, I nominate these songs to get cut altogether:
November Rain
Live and Let Die
My Michelle
Rocket Queen
Mr. Brownstone
Out Ta Get Me
Nightrain
I was going to nominate KOHD and Think About You, but I really liked how the new band played them in 2002... So I'm fine with those staying on. As for the others, they're worn out and don't add anything to the shows - We've heard them a million times before, and they take away valuable time. And don't get me wrong, RQ is one of my favorite GNR tracks - But it's not a necessity as a live track.
And yes, songs like NR and Nightrain are anthemic and fan-faves, but cutting it out of the show would make room for at least 3 new songs. I've never been fond of either one, actually.
"CUT" Mr. Brownstone??? WTF??? Um, NO.

personally i would still like most of the setlist to be old material.. there is nothing worse than being at a show and not knowing the songs... obviously i'd like to hear some new material... and better, CITR, blues, and maddy.. i could do without CD, Rhiad, silk worms and OMG.. but keep the old tunes and mix in 3 never before heard songs..
if by some work of god we get the cd this summer and then they tour again next fall then i would be all for an updated setlist

Realistically, there's no way they're not gonna do November Rain. The following are pre-requisites for any GNR show:
WTTJ
Its So Easy
Brownstone
Nightrain
PC
SCOM
NR
YCBM
Patience
KOHD, even though its a cover.
So, depending on how long they play (2 hrs. is realistic) - there's no way in hell they're going to do 11 songs from Chinese Democracy as that would be pretty much the whole album, and there's no way in hell they're going to play new songs we haven't heard yet. The new songs you'll hear are (surprise):
CD
Blues
Maddy
IRS
Better
TWAT
That's technically six new songs, and for the start of the tour, that's plenty. I'm sure as the tour moves on and we get closer and closer to a release date, they'll add more new material to the set and phase some of the older stuff out. Although since they seem to be doing these shows exclusively for the diehards, maybe they'll take the opportunity to branch out a little more and play some stuff we haven't heard before (which would be more than welcome.)
Assuming they do 20 songs, I'd like to see a perfect balance: 10 old and 10 new, but it'd more than likely be 12-14 old and 6-8 new - somewhere in there.
