I think the setlist will vary widely if the album is or is not released prior to this show. ? Let's hope it is, as much can change with GNR in split second.

If that were to be the case, the audience will leave after the first 8-9 songs. They are not coming to hear unknown and mediocre songs upfront. The new songs have to be interspersed throughout. Most people (the non-diehards) want to hear the old stuff.

I think the band is going to have to play most of the new songs. ?I'd say a minimum of 8. ?It essentially is a new band and everyone else in the band is going to want to play the songs that they had input on. ?For the festivals, they're going to have to play the classics:

Paradise City
Welcome to the Jungle
Sweet Child o' Mine
November Rain
Patience (maybe)
You Could Be Mine (I wouldn't want them to)
Knocking on Heavens Door (Don't want this)

They'd probably mix up a couple of AFD tracks however they feel.

I do wish they had a playlist set that alternated every night. ?The real question is whether the band knows all the old songs. ?I'd love to see Estranged, Dust n Bones, Coma, Double Talkin' Jive, Locomotive, Pretty Tied Up, and some other lesser known songs. ?

The setlist depends a whole bunch on whether they have CD released yet. ?If they do, they can play alot more new stuff and get away with it.

I expect them to honestly (hopefully) play the entire album, save for maybe rotating one or two songs every other night or so.

Welcome to the Jungle
Chinese Democracy
I.R.S
Live and Let Die
(new song)
Riyadh and the Bedouins
Madagascar
Sweet Child O'Mine
November Rain
The Blues
(new song)
Oh My God
(new song)
(new song)
Out ta Get Me
(new song)
(new song)
There was a Time
(new closer)

The UYI era didn't bury Appetite, nor do I expect the CD era to blow away the UYI/Appetite Eras.. They'll play the fan-pleasers to sell tickets..they'll finally have enough solid material to cut some of the fat out of the shows.. GNR is bound to be transitioning to a period of "entertaining" as opposed to the drugged, drunken, kick ass mentality.. Axl knows how to make money.

I say "Better".

Imagine that they kill the lights and keep us waiting for 5 min. in the dark, then subtle lighting comes on w/ keys, soft guitar and Axl singing, until it all kicks in, the lights reveal the band and then everyone goes nuts.

The ONLY song I think would be cool to open with other then Jungle would be "14 years"....14 years of silence, 14 years of pain.

but its not really a good kick ass opening type of song...but symbolically, I think it'd be cool.

But nothing beats Jungle.

I always thought "my michelle" would have been a cool opener....its all dark and smoky, the intro comes in....and then BOOM, the lights come on, the guitars kick up and the curtain falls......

I was thinking to myself the other that Better would make a good intro as well. But probably Jungle would be the best choice overall.
