We turn to 2002, they appear again with a Buckethead as one of the gutarist...Axl didn't promise when the cd would come out...

2006, 4 Warm up shows in NYC...no idea when the cd comes out..they go to Europe..no mention of cd release.
They do some west coast shows..no talks..
they delay the fall tour by 2 dates..nothing about cd release..

The rumors of November 13, 21..the cryptic message about 13 Tuesdays left of th eyear..

Far as I can guess..December 26th..the day after Xmas...could be the release date..that way they can honestly say they have the #1 record of the start of 2007.

First of all, they've been saying that it's going to come out this year for several months now. ?Axl went on Trunk's show and said "Late Fall" and Mark has been saying that it'll be out this year, and press releases have said this year.

Second, when GNR was touring in 1990 and 91, they were playing the stuff that was going to be on the UYI albums. ?They switched up the set lists pretty much every night. ?Right now, we're getting basically the same songs every show and they're only playing a couple of songs off the new album. ?

Some people have argued that they can't play the new stuff cause then it would get all over the internet. ?That's fucking bullshit! ?How many people do you know that are casual fans that have downloaded any of the band's live stuff? ?The only people they're screwing over are the hardcore fans that will (a) listen to the new songs and encourage concert goers to get into the new songs cause some people know them and (b) will definetly buy the new album when it comes out so there's no money loss. ?And besides that , Axl's belief that Appetite is the only 'real' GNR album is screwing over any fan that wants to hear UYI songs. ?I'm sorry but 2 covers , YCBM, and November Rain don't properly represent the UYI catalog of like 30 songs. ?I'm really getting sick of hearing Appetite's 2nd rate (not that they're bad, they just aren't the best) songs like It's So Easy, Mr Brownstone, My Michelle, Think About You, Out Ta Get Me. ?They should rotate at least those 3 (plus the 2 covers) [Don't read eliminate, read rotate] with new songs and with some UYI stuff like Civil War, Estranged, Yesterdays, or any non-singles that were also good (I'd love to see Locomotive or Coma but that's just fantasy).

I've been a HUGE fan of Guns for YRS. Before I moved to Canada there is no way I could ever see guns since i'm originally from ME. In 2002 I was SUPER busy with school and I missed the Toronto show... Now I have tix for the show in Nov, but honestly the way things are turning out, having followed the Euro tour closely, I almost dont even want to go to the show.....Thinkin about sellin my tix. Because everything is so super predictable and my tix were super pricy. I'm almost more excited seein Baz...

People have a right to their opinions, and some people dont like the fact that they play the same setlist everynight, so get over it already.

I can see where you are coming from. But for me personally, it's just been long enough. No, Axl Rose does not owe me another song, ever. But to lead people on, to make them promises and not keep them, and to keep everyone in the dark? I'm not following Jesus or God here, this is Axl Rose. What is a promise Axl has made that he hasn't kept yet?? He hasn't said anything. He hasn't had a chance to release the album yet this year and already people are giving him shit for it.  There is still 2 more months in the year.

It does get old to see people bitching in every thread about the setlist, but I can also see where these people are coming from. Like I said in another thread earlier, I just wish they would play more UYI songs, mix it up a bit more. Thats how they did on the UYI tour and it was fucking awesome. You never knew what you were getting. On the other hand though, they havent toured the States since those 12 dates or whatever in 2002, so for the majority of the crowd this setlist is not a problem. So I guess I see it from both angles, as a hardcore fan like most of the people here, and from the casual fan.

I would think that the band would get tired of playing the same songs everynight aswell though.

I agree with you to some extent, that the band might be getting tired of playing the same songs. One might say they are just happy to be out touring and to not being held up in the studio or doing absolutely nothing waiting for Axl to be ready go. But at some point they will get sick of playing the same songs and I'm sure they are just as excited as all of us for this album to come out because then they can start playing more of the songs that they helped write. I bet they can't wait until they are playing 8-10 new songs from the album. The show will probably just be that much more intense.

Honestly, I dont look at them as a cover band. They have been together for a LONG time, so I consider them a band. I was speaking more from the general publics view of them. Most people going to the shows only know the singer, Axl Rose. We know the whole band, and have for years, so to us they are a legitment band, but to most casula fans who havent kept up with them they look at them as a cover band. Just some hired musicians playing GNR songs while Axl sings.

Thats why I want CD to get released ASAP, so the band can get the recignition they deserve.

My first ever post, I've been visiting this board ever day for ten years. Obviously, Big GNR fan. I agree the album is just gonna pop up in stores. The first album to ever just show up. It will happen at the end of the year, when everyone is bitching about no announcement or news. This will be brillant and be the greatest selling album of all time.
