Here Today...

« on: October 25, 2006, 08:23:23 PM »

I have to vent here a bit.

What is it with people going off about how Axl leaves the stage?? Get over it!? I'm honestly sick and tired of reading posts, or reviews about how people don't like him going back stage.? Does it really matter?? Undecided? Who honestly gives a rats ass if he goes back stage?? He still sings all the songs!

To be honest, I've seen them twice now, and I haven't even really noticed it.? I guess that's because I'm too busy watching Guns N Roses and not Axl Rose!? Yeah sure, I like to watch Axl, but there are other entertainers up there as well.

FUCK!

As Freddie Mercury said at Wembley circa 1986 "I need my fuckin water I don't care"

At least they don't go off and leve the stage empty, insted they have the guitarists playing awesome solos  yes

I know...it's not really a big deal that Axl goes off stage like that.? I guess some people always have something negative to say.? I'm looking forward to seeing ALL members of GNR on the upcoming tour.?

I feel this board has definitely helped me think of GNR as a band, not just a one-man show.? ?ok?

it's actaully good that he leaves the stage. AXL demands almost all the attention when he is out there. Let some people focus on the other band members for a minute or two. peace

I might have said that years ago, but this band has evolved and it's a 'band', not "Axl's lackeys".

I love this band because of each member.

There is a lot of talent on that stage, something hard to come by these days.

FUCK!

This complaint was more prevelant back in 2002, and I can understand why. ?During the tour of 2002, people were still coming to grips that GNR was no longer Axl, Slash, Duff and to a certain extent, Izzy. ?Most people were able to accept the new band right away, 'cause for them (and myself) Axl was the basis for the band. ?Other's took a little more time to accept this. ?When the band is on stage, and Axl's up there singing, those slow converters could accept the new members and call what was on stage as GNR, but whenever Axl left the stage, there existed the reminder that this is a whole new band. ?Four years later, I think most people have had enough time whether they want to accept or reject the current crew as GNR.

People on this site have accepted this band as GnR. ?So have I. ?But I don't get angy whenever those still cling to the original band as GNR. ?It's their opinion, and they're welcomed to it. ?Granted, they're not going to receive a warm welcome here. ?Moreover, it's an issue that's no use in being argued. ?Since 1996, people have had a long time to accept or reject the incarnation of GNR. ?If they don't, well, it's their loss. ?Seems to me it's the hardcore fans who have accepted this band, while the casual fan have had a harder time. ?If Paul McCartney started touring under the band name "The Beatles," I'd just laugh in his face and say good luck. ?But for some reason, I see things differently with GNR. ?If the casual fan has this problem, then that's their call. ?That just means I have a better shot at getting choice tickets at concerts ?Smiley

Cheers,

Andrew

There's more to being in a band than who's doling out the pay checks.

in this case... there is one dominant figure who commands 100% of the fans who want to hear the "gnr sound"
the band he has now are simply for utility....

In some ways any band is a vehicle for their frontman's ideas and drives.

Are you saying Axl writes all the new material? Robin wrote the music to Better. We simply won't know about the rest until the CD comes out but to say Axl writes it all is just plain wrong.

Given how hard Axl performs when he's on stage... I think he's more than entitled to some "breaks" during the concert... I felt that way when he was 29-31 during the UYI tour... so I sure as hell feel that way today when he's 44.... what the hell else is he going to do there anyway... stand there slapping a gay ass tamborine on his leg or something?
