the ticket prices are WAY too high.....most casual fans wouldn't even consider paying 75-90 bucks per ticket for a band that has released no new music in over a decade.....only the most hardcore of fans will show up.....i got 4 tickets for the worcester show at a mind boggling 344 bucks and i'm gonna end up eating the cost for at least 1 of them cause none of my friends want to pay that much....i have no problem paying that much because axl is the best of all time, but to anyone who is not a hardcore fan, that cost is ridiculous.....none of the shows except MSG will sell out
No offense, but you're incorrect. ?Halifax, Nova Scotia is sold-out. ?Before you laugh, remember, it's a 10,100 capacity arena. ?That's pretty fuckin cool.
Maybe it's a crazy theory, but in my eyes, Canadians are a bit more in tune with Europe than we Americans are. ?With over 700,000 folks in Europe seeing them kick ass this year, maybe word of mouth has gotten around to the Canadians a little bit ahead of the average American who gets his or her rock news from the local yokel dj. ?Just a thought.

The shows will be packed at showtime. ?Think of this--in 2002, many of the larger markets (5 times larger than Naples), had just 6000 people at the arena on the night of the show (after walk-up sales). ?If that guy, has sold about 5000 tickets, he can expect the show to be near a sellout on the night of the show. ?Heck, there are many people who will decide to high tail it over after they kick ass in Miami tonight. ?The sales, besides a few shows in smaller markets, have been WAY better than in 2002, and should continue to get better as this train gains momemtum

Chicago and the LA shows should sell out as well. Interesting theory on the walk up sales. I like to compare how similar type shows by different acts are selling in the same timeframe.

this is what happens when you go on tour with no new material and very little promotion. if they had those, they'd sell out probaly every arena show
Ummmm that's called the 2002 tour.
This one will be different....right?

Not every show has to sell out in order for this to be a sucessful tour....too many of you already wrote the whole thing off after they didn't sell out every date in a day. If every show is at least 3/4ths full, then it is still higly sucessful, some won't be that full, and others will be sold out, in the end I'd say that the tour is ALREADY sucessful.....providing he shows up at every show...but thats another argument altogether. (but he will show up, and the tour will go great!)

Kind of sucks the guy can't even sell out an 8,000 seat venue . This tour is going to bea disaster if he doesn't start selling tickets
Notice rest of Florida is selling well, it's only that show that's selling bad.
Then notice it's a different promoter doing that show. Hmm. Coincidence?
Plus, they are overbooked down there.
I wonder what exactly "selling well" is. Sunrise is definately sold/selling well. Tampa and Jacksonville there are still a shit ton of good tickets left. What constitutes selling well?
Jacksonville has floors year but I think the stands are filling up ok, at least from ticket master... keep in mind a good show at the first Forida gig will encourage people to travel a bit for a second show or at least suggest to friends that they should pick up tickets.

Everything is going well . I thought it was tonight's show that was 60% sold. I misread the article . Tonight's show will be sold out.

My count says 23 shows completed in 2002
44 completed for 2006 with tonight to be the 45th
(I counted fast so if my figures are off please forgive me)
My point is:
That alone should tell people something about the difference.
I really don't understand all the negativity. ?I THOUGHT we were all fans of this band and want them to succeed or at least get to enjoy them live.
Everyone going tonight and to the next few FL dates have a great time instead of sitting on here complaining. Really, it's just not worth the effort!

I'll 2nd that. For me personally, I'm just beside myself that I'll get to see GNR again in one month from today.
Not sure why alot of other people are looking for a reason to complain or be unhappy, but I'm certainly not gonna do that!

Don't know much about the US/Canadian markets but I can't imagine that any band sells everything, crappy seats included, at all, or even most, venues on a tour.? Besides which, I think you're being a little pessimistic to predict a disaster after only one night.
However, if you're not happy with the situation, I guess they could always return to Europe where we know how to treat rock royalty.??

Yeah I re-read that a couple times too. Still not sure I read it quite right.
