I would, but unfortunately I have enough shoes right now. I was going to go shopping for some boots last month but I just have too many shoes.

 rofl

estebanf-I know selling silver boots is OK, I was just clarifying what he probably means since he said "get rid of" he probably doesn't mean he is going to up them, although it would be really cool if he did.

can somebody tell me why it is ok to profit from silver boots and it is not ok to profit from home burned Bootlegs??
Are these silver pressing companies who sell them pay any $$ to the Artist??
were they allowed to tape them in the first place so that they can profit by selling them in silver??

Good question!  I have no idea but it would be great if someone could answer this!  I am only going by what it says in the rules of the section.

Maybe Pandora can enlighten us?

My mother language is not english, so I need to be sure if ''profit'' means ''do business''.

You need to pay for a silver bootleg. We all like to have silver bootlegs, and the only way to get them is paying for them. I dont think its bad to sell them, without the intension of any profit, if you had to pay for them at the first time.

A FLAC file can be duplicated a billion times, that is impossible for a silver disc. You cant ''share'' silver discs, you just can share the extrated digital info of them.

There is something that will never change: silver bootlegs exist. We will never stop bootlegers, and I really dont know if I would want that. So, if your intention is just recovering the money you spent in them, I dont see anything wrong on that

No one is ''technically'' allowed to tape concerts. But we all do collect bootlegs. There are certain illegal things that are morally ''ok'' to do (I think that taping a show, and then share it for free with the rest of the world is excellent) and other
that are not (making money with flac files, for example)

I know my explanation is not enough solid, but this is my opinion.

To profit means to gain monetarily by the sale of something or to earn a return on an investment.  Your grasp of English is a lot better than some native speakers by the way-

I think we can all agree that we need the bootleggers because if we didn't have the people to tape and distribute these shows then we would have no collection of memories.  I don't really agree with second hand profit (selling something you did not author, tape, or make yourself) but unfortunately that isn't going to go away any time soon.

I am guessing since these CDs and DVDs were actually pressed by a company that selling them in their original form is acceptable-
