some bands release a certain amount of copies of new albums with autographs from the band members.

do you think this could be a good ideea for gn'r to do with cd?
and if yes, how many copies should it be?
and they should be available only if you buy from the official gn'r site or they could make them available to the various gnr boards first.
i was wondering because there's a lot of people in various countries that may not have the chance of getting a gnr show and a chance for an autograph (not that gnr does signing sessions hihi).
your opinions?

if it's a stupid thread, feel free to delete/dead horse it.

It'd be a good idea, but its never gonna happen, so I wouldn't really give it a second thought.

This isn't a knock on GN'R, but when people start a thread saying "other bands have done this" or "it worked for other bands" etc. . .

Most likley GNr won't do it.  They are very simplistic when it comes to the way they handle their business (I know - GNR simplistic lol! ?)

My point is - they are not going to go out of their way to reach out to their fans or do anything special.  Again, it's not a knock on the band - it's just the way it is, and always has been.

BTW - I'm ok with that.  As much as I would like the little extras, when it comes down to it, as long as I can hear music - i'm a happy camper - anything else is bonus

i don't think it would take a lot of axl's time to sign some cd's and i think the fans would appreciate it. it wouldn't be too hard.

I think it depends who asks and what for.

If you're only after to make a quick buck on Ebay, I think he might have a problem with signing one for you.

I've never understood the fascination with autographs. I can see if you want to get something autographed so you can sell it on eBay though. If I ever met Axl I would try and get a picture with him, not ask for his autograph.

if you didnt have a camera with you at the time i suppose an autograph would be cool

yeah, I've regretted times where I just asked for an autograph for someone and didn't get a handshake, or try to talk to them.

Since when has GN'R been fan-friendly? You've gotta be joking...

Not a knock, but let's be honest. ?Roll Eyes

Not gonna happen, but it'd be cool as fuck to see Axl, Robin, Tommy, Richard, Dizzy, Brain & Chris on there.

Then have Axl sign in his handwriting, 'EMPLOYEE', so Buckethead can be represented. That'd be awesome!

I was content just shaking Axls hand after the show at hammerstein and sayin good job. And seeing the genuine excitement and happiness coming off him.

Ten autographed records each for Europe, North America, Asia and so on would be cool. Would be worth thousand of dollars.  beer
