I was just thinking.  Merck said you might see the album on the shelves with NO PROMOTION.  Does this mean it could be available at the concerts?  I can see them selling the album for $50.00 a piece.  Something good to think about...can't wait to hear about the opening night!!

That would be kick ass, and Guns are my favorite band, but $50 for an album?? Hell Fucking No. Nobody outside of us message board freaks would pay that.

Why would they sell the album for more than what it would be sold for in a retail setting?

Haha just a thought.  I know they will not sell it for more then $20.00 at most.  I just think this is something Axl would do.  Set up a stand with no label and put the album on it...let the people at the shows figure out what it is.

No he didn't.  The band is about to go on tour specifically to promote the CD.

Good point.  At first I thought what a cool idea...let the people going to the show the first crack at the CD.  But...mass crowds trying to get the CD at the arena, then running out to hear it!

ANYTHING is a possibility.  This is just something else to think about.  The tour starts on a tuesday, just think, the album in stores AND you can buy it at the show the same day.

It's a fucking great idea to sell albums at shows but charging $50 would be the biggest rip off ever.

From another thread....

Mysteron - sorry for all the questions, but do you know if there's any validity to the idea that there may be no given release date for the album before it hits stores?  Was that just sarcasm not fully represented?

Mysteron -
It would have been sarcasm

What if everyone at the show could head down to Virgin Megastore (in NYC for example) and use their tix stub to get a free copy of the CD?  that'd be unreal (and never happen of course hehe  hihi )

I honestly think it'll hit stores, but with little to no promotion backing it up.  You might see a few copies at the show that come in a special package that you can only open with a secret code.  Everything is so damn secret.

I could very much see that happening except for the price tag.

I believe they'd just sell it for $10 - $15.

Thats funny. I just thought about that too. Everyone attending from the boards would be buying like 10 copies each just to send out to the rest of us!

I think they'd sell about 10,000 albums a night, 50,000 a week. Awful idea Huh
