It would make sense to get some sort of announcement before the tour starts on the 24th. If this particular Chinese Democracy tour is to promote the album, a date when people can get their hands on what is being promoted would be a smart move.

What difference does it make what we think?  no It'll happen, or it won't. When/if there is an announcement, I hope it's direct from Axl, rather than a press team or Merck speaking on his and the band's behalf.

Well I think if we don't get an announcement by October 24th, meaning before the tour starts, we can forget about getting our hands on the album this year. Barring some crazy situation, which of course can happen with gnr, if the album is actually ready for release this year there is no reason for them not to announce a release date before the tour starts. Meaning that the only reason we would not get a release date before the tour starts is if the album is not finished yet, which means that it won't be released this year. So I guess we'll know one way or the other by next Tuesday.
